There is only one nice one I can think of over here and even if there were a million I would say this is a great looking car haha

    Thanks guys

And sorry 99sil-teg, these are actually REALLY common atm. A few years back they were a budget drift platform, including the car, suspension and a 4age or SR20 conversion it would've cost you under $4,000. Because they bottomed out at about $300 for the car. Now they've all been wrecked so it's not so cheap.
Maybe these weren't as common in the states? If you google "ke70" it's harder to find a stock one! hahaha

Loving this so far, loving seeing people take chassis that don't normally get messed with. Great work, can't wait to see more.

    Did this yestreday. Old school!

And then I put them on this:

    Lol, jk. Here they are:

While I did, that, wound the coilovers down a little more, and I'll need to take the guard liners out to drop it the last inch or so.
Also welded the brackets on for the brake lines to stop them rubbing.

And for those interested i can confirm the brand and style of wheel: UPSILON strato. Yeah, not epilson. 14x7j 0ish offset.

Started to do a few more small things, painted the extractors today with VHT paint. Could've painted them primrose yellow, but thought I'd be a bit more generic!
Might start to disassemble the 5k, and get some gaskets etc.

Also, I've gotta put some brackets on the coilovers as the brake lines are rubbing on the tyres. Obviously, I haven't been driving it too much because of that.

    Thanks for the positives guys!
It's nice to see your time and effort being appreciated.

My build is also a budget build, to show people what can be done cheaply, but effectively.
All up, including the purchase of the car and all modifications, I think I've spent approximately $3,500.

I mentioned this in the OP, but that included the quad grille - which to buy genuine is quite costly. I modified some RT104 Corona quad bases, with a cut and weld to make them fit the headlight surrounds. Then the grille in the centre is a stock one I cut down, rather than the honeycomb one. I try to work with precision.

What's next? Well, the engine + extractors go in, along with the gearbox. So I need and exhaust set-up to suit. Thinking I'll have two twin tips, approximately stock size at the rear. If any of you saw High Top Fades Soarer - like that.

agreed, looking awesome. Amazing what some wheels, a drop and some details can do for a car

Mint quad grille swap. Looks amazing.

Further proof that the '70s and '80s had the best cars to modify, hardly a crazy build to get it so proper!

    $600?!?!! You crazy!
People are asking $3000+ for one in the condition of that. I would've snapped that up, haha.

super tidy to begin with but the respray helped heaps. Dont blame you for driving it as it was, it looked showroom fresh haha

guessing the brand of those wheels are Epsilon ?

i'm always amazed at how much offset these cars can eat up! you going to space them for now or just wait til you get something more aggressive?

how's the height on the coils, can you get much lower? assuming they aren't base height adjustable, just spring perch?
Nah, not Epilson. The wheels say "Uphilson" - pretty sure they may be a rip off brand haha. Regardless, they're nice rims. These cars will take about 7.5' wide with 0 offset without much modification. It's sweet as.

Coils will be able to be dropped about another inch, and yeah, spring perch adjustable I'm pretty sure.
