    Thanks!

Here's the final photo of the truck with these wheels on. New wheels have arrived, STUD PATTERN IS CORRECT, and should be on by the end of the week

Sweet! Thanks for your help and the pictures There's a tyre bay connected to our work and he's got a 215 45 I can try out. If that fits without rub then i'll probably go for the 215 40's I think.

not the exact sizes you're looking for, but close.

btw I daily drive this thing with these tires (17x9 205/40) no worries at all.

it all comes down to your fender/rim gap, imo, only go with as much stretch as you need, no point having a 205/40 on the rim if a 215/40 will work/clear the fender.

id say grab some used tires and do a test fit, much cheaper than buying a set of 4 new tires that you dont like... I actually normally rock used tires, cant beat $40-50 a piece.

well, 215 is def gonna have a bit of stretch, but nothing crazy.

the front of my mr2 is 17x9 205/40, even this still looks ok, my rear has more (18x10.5 235/40).

I dont have any up close pics right now, but Ill try and grab a couple for you soon.

    this is a start:

    Questions about stretch:

What do you guys think about the aesthetic and amount of stretch of a 215/40R17 on a 8.5" wide rim?

I've looked at tyrestretch.com, but its a whole other thing seeing them in person. Has anyone run this? Did you like the look?
The main reason I ask is that I can get a tyre in this size which in NZ can be legally fitted to a rim that width (trying to keep the truck as legal as possible). Rear wheel fitment will be that as seen below, fronts are a little more inboard, and all the guards have been rolled relatively well.

And, update on wheels won't be too far away
