Looking good. I'm a fan of both those colors. Might want to look at the benz granite grey as well. Liking the lorinsers, but somehow the rotiforms look cleaner to me.

Agreed. If I go so far as to repaint it, it will get sprayed Aviator. Or maybe the gray from the GT3RS.

I'll burn that bridge if I get there.

Now that this car is starting to look cool, I'm starting to fall back in love with this thing and I have a feeling this "budget" build is about to snowball...

The leather VW used in these cars doesn't age very well and the seats are starting to look their age. I've looked for several months for a new set of seats to replace what's in there, but all the ones I've found have the same poorly aged leather.

So, I gave my friend Ryan (Flavourless on here) a call and we started talking interiors. I've always loved the minitrucks from the mid-90s and I kinda want to take the theme with this car in that direction. Of course, for the interior this can mean only one thing: TWEED.

If I can get the wife to sign off on the idea and let me spend the money to do it, I'll be gutting the interior sometime in the next couple months and giving it to Ryan to work his magic.

And here's where it really starts to snowball... if I'm going to have the interior gutted, that will mean I'm only a couple more hours of work away from having the car stripped enough to get repainted.

I have always wanted an Aviator Gray car...

Really like your Lorinsers, but need it much outer.

After changing out all the suspension components and front axles as part of the refresh I still had a serious amount of slop when driving, but it got even worse about a week ago. I diagnosed the issue as a bad snub mount. I'd say it had seen better days:

    Hmmm. Decisions, decisions.

Looks like I'm going to be getting my old Lorinser RSK3's back thanks to "BADwayz", who currently has them on his BMW 7-series. So now I'm going to have two sets of wheels to choose from for the Passat.

    Do I go with the 18x9 chrome RSK5s or the 19x9 RSK3s?

Here's how the RSK3s looked when I had them on my old B6:
