LOL Im pretty sure they are the CV boots and they cover the CV( constant velocity) joint. which in any language is called the same thing. they are supposed to be grease filled. and not busted open. OP if you get around to replacing them make sure to get the genuine MB boots and grease.

since the first time i saw a rap video in the 90s i wanted a car i can drive with the ass dropped, but the good old benz has an independent rear, which isn't going to stop me from cruising down the hwy with the front fenders no where near the tires and the rear touching the ground. even if the cv axles are inverted and the outer joint is banging on the body. as of right now, it's not broken, so i'm not fixing it.

the wheels are epsilons they are 16x9 et33 5x120.65 with 26mm adapters and 195/50-16s

Came across this build researching the autopilot v2 and have hit the jackpot for all my questions.. I am building a w114/5 and am planning to run SS6's all corners.

Any regrets or suggestions on the setup as you run atm? Im very interested in some more detail about the mods at the front required for more clearance.

I guess my main question would be what sort of pressures do you run at ride height and also what is required to top the bags out?

thanks man, as of right now i don't have any regrets with the bag set up, if anything i would have went with a smaller tank. i do plan on getting another compressor in the future and am working on upgrading the electrical system while the car is apart. and i'm putting shocks in. your in luck cause things are apart right now, so i'm taking some pics for you.

the front bag sits flat on the lower control arm, there is no front sway bar anymore and the cup that held the sway bar bushing has been ground flat. you can see where there is a notch removed in front of the bag and you can get two bolt holes lined up in the 1" hole in the middle of the spring seat on the control arm and i made a sweet plate/washer (which i forgot to take a picture of.) to hold it affixed.


don't mine the rub marks on the bag, the bag now sits a full inch lower then in use to. so i don't think there will be anymore worries there.

top mount a copy of how dreamstate did his, it's a 4" square tube with 4" od round spacers. it just makes the most sense. as for the spacers i'm not sure on the thickness of them yet. i'm estimating +/-1.5"

also those steel squares are being swapped out for aluminum ones.

as for pressures this is at 70 psi:


sporty driving i ride about 80 front 50 rear
shit roads: 90 front 70 rear

and there is no need to be higher then that, i'm not driving threw the woods or anything but all the wheels are positive camber at 120 so i'll call that max.
