    • Nice!! I'll be needing this pic soon Do you think its ok to make the brackets from mild steel instead of Aluminium section? Its easier to weld and so on but I don't want it to damage the tops of the bags

I was going back and forth on either getting the febi or the meyle ones...i think i'm just going to get the febi ones because they are cheaper.

yeah totally. i made mine out of al because it's very easy to drill and didn't have to paint afterwards. the re bags have stainless steel end caps, not sure what you mean about the damage.

it looks like your right about them being aluminium, i have cut a ripped bag apart before, those end plates are super thick and very solid. i'll try to find a picture

                    thanks

ok, size 4 letter size time, i took pictures:
                    this is a subframe:

it now has an enlarged area on the spring pocket, it is now flat between the lca rear mounts, and it is boxed on the foward lca mount area

it's going to be sweet, you'll see.

a tie rod (which i should have got two of), motor mounts (which i didn't get hardware for yet) and a rear diff mount because the old one was fucked. before the wheels go back on the ground i'm going to replace the axles.

                    • things happening:

                      i trimmed the subframe mounts 7mms, ta-da:

                      boom subframe in:

the engine is bolted to new mounts:

i'm thinking about polishing that valve cover, and using a smaller round air cleaner on top of my new carburetor, but seriously everything in the engine bay is covered in horse seamen...anyways, the new mounts are like an 1" taller then the worn out ones so the fan is stuck against the shroud. first i was thinking, electric fan, then i was thinking just cut the shroud out, then i was thinking about making a new shroud out of a small sheet of aluminum. now i'm just thinking about horse seamen, that's how i feel about 40 years of what just might as well be horse seamen everywhere.

my fender now has a cute little bulge now, i like it.:

                      UNLOP:

                      update over.

thanks, i was looking on ebay for a spare subframe but they were all over $500 so i didn't get one. removal is the 2 motor mounts, 4 bolts to the body, control arms, and little stuff like the shocks and motor stablizer. pretty easy to unbolt.

                                no h.ate around here.

anyways...looks like i should be able to tuck the whole valve stem

a big difference from the old amount of lowness in the front:

                                mostly due to this:

you can see in that picture that the bag is mounted one inch higher then previously:

also new shocks came they were about an inch and a half too long, after slotting the lower mount i'm still 3/4" too long:

starting working on shorting the shock going to make it an inch shorter:

                                then the baby woke up.
