    Hi all,

now I did sign up last year at some point and I've had a few cars since, but last weekend I managed to swap my 20vT B5 Passat for this E36.

Some of you may have seen the Passat before, the previous owner took it to Edition 38, in 2011 and I owned it over winter. It was a lovely car but I had the itch for something RWD again after owning a basic mx5 previously!

So with an E36 and £250 my way I could officially say I owned one! In honesty it's quite tatty, but I've already been eyeing up replacement parts and other bits and bobs online!

So here it is, I picked it up on Saturday so I hasn't had a great deal of loving yet but I'm sure that'll change soon.

Like I said, I picked this up Friday… on Saturday I had to change the fuel filter, it got mushed between the car and a speed bump and had gotten fuel everywhere!

Here's a comparison between mushed and new haha

That's now been relocated to the engine bay so it's not gonna get squashed again!
To top things off, after spending a night in doing uni work last night I went for a drive about 1am to get some fresh air, and this happened!!

    God knows what's next!

So the plans are to tidy it up, I've got two front wings in the post, I'm getting the rears seen too and it'll only be a matter of time before buckets and harnesses are bought.

    More updates will come soon!

      thanks dude.

i'm thinking some wider rears but havnt looked into it yet, these are only et35 so need a lower offset at least! bodywork first of all other than that, like i said, the 4 arches need attention, as does the bumper and skirts.

once that's done it's all fun and games

        Looks nice and low

Was relocating the fuel filter easy and any guides as mines dangerously low and worried about mine also

i bought a metre of fuel line & cut about 4" off it, the hose connected to the copper pipe where the fuel would enter the filter, and now connected to the rubber hose in the engine bay (after removing the copper pipe in front of where the filter would be initially.)

pretty easy job, i'll get some pics.

So yesterday I had a pair of front wings in the post, all I'm waiting for now are the rear arch repair panels so I can crack on prepping the car for paint.

So its been a hectic few days trying to sort this out whilst being called into work at every possible opportunity!

I've got the panels I need for now, and I've also picked up a new set of wheels from James Merriman. It's now running staggered BBS RC's, 17x7.5 & 8.5 on 205.40's so that's cool.

Only a photo or two to show you the current condition, but I've planned to meet the guy who's respraying the car to discuss prices and colours on Tuesday. Should be fun!

Now the question is, to keep the spoiler or not?

Will get more photos of the bad bits so we can compare the paint from before and after!
Oh and most importantly, my next day off (Sunday) will involve the c-spanner coming out to play again!

After a bit of advertising and mind-changing I've decided to stick with it.
Instead of paying to have it resprayed I'm gonna do it myself, I've managed to get hold of the correct equipment so I'll just take my time and get it done to my specification.

So today I spent my lunchtime with various scotch pads sanding the bodywork down.
The plan for tomorrow is to remove the spoiler, fill the gaps and continue sanding to the point that it's ready for priming.

I've also got a very, very bald rear tyre so at some point I'll get that sorted - bit for now I've got some pics of today's work.

the weather has been really really crap over the past day or so but as soon as it clears up I'm gonna remove the spoiler, get the filler in the gaps and finish it off ready for priming

wow, a fair bit happened to date…

I can officially say that priming has commenced!
After receiving my rear arch repair panels in the post a couple of days ago i thought it'd be silly to put of priming any longer. So but by bit I'm priming panels, starting from the front and working my way towards the back.

Here's what we have so far…
