Thanks. I used the rotary as a friend of mine road raced them and has a small stack of spare engines and 5speed transmissions that he gave me along with a ton of Racing Beat parts. The new engine will be here this thursday and it is a supercharged bridgeport 12a. The Speedster weighs a whopping 1078lbs and with that engine it should fly, besides it was free.lol

the Cuda is a true numbers matching 1971 shaker hood car that I found in Phoenix,Arizona. It was sitting behind a body shop since 1974 and has only 38,000miles on it. we took it completely apart and have been doing a rotisserie restoration on it,but have taken a few liberties with bolt on parts so that it can be returned to factory if ever sold. the original motor and trans have been seafoamed and are on pallets and it now has a 522cu in 6pak and a keisler viper 6speed(t56). CME built and dyno the engine and it churns out 645hp at the flywheel. It will be finished by July of this year. complete build can be seen at www.perf-assoc.com

I took Das Speedster out for its first cruise today and it is a blast to drive. I drove by a few police officers and one actually honked and waved. None of them stopped me as I am not running an exhaust system or a front license plate. Totally opposite of what would happen when I drove my cal style slammed VW beetles a few years back. Back then I couldnt go to the grocery store without getting pulled over.

That is badass man. My dad used to have a Barracuda when he was younger, after a bunch of other cars he eventually got into a Black on black Super Bee with a 318 (I think it was a 318). That was his baby until he was forced to sell it.

Truly amazing vision and fabrication! Reminds me of the wild concept cars of the 50's and 60's, but with a beetle.

Is the rear hood the front trunk lid from a super beetle?

                              Amazing find!!!

That beetle roadster is amazing. The quality of work is insane and the effort to make something so different is quite amazing!

Please post up the build on that 'cuda as well!
