My Dad and I and a few friends and family on the weekends built this car in 73days. We had a deadline as we promised SEMa/HRIA show car director that we would have it at the HotRod and Restoration show in Indy. It is a 1961 VW Beetle body that has been shortened by 12" and narrowed
4", channeled 4" the entire body has been sectioned 6". the rear deck lid is the hood off of a 1974 Super beetle that I widened 3". doors, trunk and glove box have all been suicide mounted. Front suspension is a 1932 ford axle dropped 6" on posies springs, rear suspension is a ford 8.8 rear end,4:11posi with posie 1/4 elliptical springs upper trailing arms and a panhard bar. Engine is a 1985 Maxda RX7 12a rotary with Racing Beats side draft Dellorto carb, but a new motor is being buiolt and it is also a 12a but a bridgeport with a eaton 90cu in supercharger and holley 650 carb. trans is stock mazda rx7 5speed. Curb weight of this car is only 1065lbs. Brakes are GM metric disc up front, stock ford drums in back and I am using a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse hydraulic clutch and power brake pedal ssembly. This car is a blast to drive, loud, obnoxious, fast and fun.

Awesome build, i bet its so satisfying creating something like this on your own, seeing a junked out piece of crap transform into a hand built machine.

Wow, this is probably the best thing I've seen on here in quite a while.

Why'd you go with the rotary, though?
