This is going to be legen ... wait for it ... dary!!
Today I did a testfit with the wheels, no I didn't do this before. I am very very pleased with the fitment. The front needs a little work, but the back is great. Maybe a tiny spacer, but doesn't need much.
Nice!!
I'll let the pictures do the talking
The front is poking a little too much. But a little more low and some camber will fix this for me. Again, very pleased.
To polish the wheels I needed something to turn the wheel without the center in it. On youtube I saw a clip of some dude that was using a wheelbarrel wheel to turn it, so that was an awesome idea that I was going to use.
So, I took a wheelbearing that I had lying around with a centerlock wheelhub. I cut off the center treads and made a new aluminum thing to mount the wheel.
Then I welded a baseplate so I can secure the contraption on a wooden base or on my workbench.
And this is how the wheel slips over it.
Now all that is left is the propulsion of the thing so I can have it turning for sanding and polishing.
Why do I do this? Because building this will cost me less time then sanding and polishing it all by hand.
