Nice work so far, there can't be many 14 year olds building cars so props to you for that.

You may as well put that wiring loom in the bin, as it will be useless by the time you come to use it. Copper corrodes easily enough at the best of times, never mind tiny strands of it.

those are going to pop out the first slightly large bump you hit. They are made in the shape of a diamond for a reason... you can cut them....

They were cut before I got the car, I just cut them a little bit more..
They seem pretty secure to me, and the damn things were hard enough to get back
in there so popping out shouldn't be an issue, I'll believe you when I go over a bump and
my car is suddenly on the ground..

I have done a little research and have found you to be right, I now feel slightly stupid.
But the cut springs are temporary, I plan to switch to coilovers before it's running so
going over any bumps isn't in the near future.

They just went on, you know how the spring is pigtailed at the end to sit on the post?
After they're seated on the bottom post just twist them around until the top cut end is behind the upper post.

I'll post a picture later to explain it better, they seem pretty solid

haha I've been driving with my e30 for a year now with rearsprings which are cutted a bit more than yours. They have stayed in their place all that time with no problems. I dont trust them to stay there but wont do anything for it as long as it works this way.

I put the bigger rubber thing on the upper side and the original spring end allso up so that the cutted/toolarge diameter/non fitting end is on the lower spring plate...

Hey all, I come to you with a dilemma.
I recently moved in with my grandfather in roswell, and I haven't been able to get my car over here, no money. So i was talking to my grandfather about it and he said, basically, if I junked my car.. And found one with a motor, he would pay for whatever I can't afford.. It's almost made me cry when I first heard it.
Having to give up my first and favorite car?? What?!?! But.. I took a few hours to think about it and if I can find a suitable replacement I'll do it, and I think I have. So I want your opinions, whatever I choose will probably have nothing to do with what I get told, but it helps to know people care?

One very bad thing though, is if I choose to get a new car.. It probably won't be a BMW (

First love is always the one you never forget. I had 3 project cars before i turned 16. never drove any of them. But sometimes you just have to let your grandfather get you something with a motor.
Expect problems and eat them for breakfast.

I know what you're probably thinking, "who the hell bumped this old ass build?!?!"
I did, because I have.... A.... Wait for it.........

UPDATE!!!!!!
kinda.

So I've been somewhat prepping this on the weekends

Getting it prepared for this

Nope not an M20, not even an M50! I bought a fucking 2JZ!

Panties bunched yet?
I got the most purist bashing, non-European, legendary motor I could, I love it.
Got it for a pretty good deal too! So I'll just be putting it back together and such for the next few weeks, the only thing wrong is it needs a rod. Sadly it is 2jz-ge, no turbos
I'll probably go NA-T but for now I'm just going to rebuild it stock.

So look out for another update, thanks for looking!
