Well, it's only taken 2 years, but I'm finally making progress on the volvo! I recently cut the springs (3 front and 2 rear) to get rid of the 4x4 stance but it just made me want to go even lower, no pics of what it looks like right now cuz it's nothing special to look at. Anywho, I got a killer deal on some Trans AM GTA wheels, 16x8, and it finally gave me the motivation to get this thing done proper. Since they're volvos nobody makes a bolt on coilover kit, so I'm going to be assembling my own. I'm currently getting all the pieces lined up and my adapters will be here tomorrow so I can finally test fit the wheels and get a sneak peak of what the end result will be. Here's the lowdown of what all is going into this project!

    Wheels/Tires:
16x8 Trans AM GTA et16 front/et0 rear (refinished by yours truely with gold faces and fully polished lips)
    195/45/16 Achilles ATR Sport tires
    New Trans AM center caps
    Adaptec 5x108 to 5x4.75 20mm hub/wheel centric adapters

    Front:
Kaplhenke coilover sleeves/perches and stop rings
Kaplhenke low profile upper spring seats
    Eibach 250lb 10" springs
    Short Bilstein HD struts
Custom shortened strut tubes (2" taken out and powdercoated black)
    IPD front poly bushing kit

    Rear:
    Chevy S10 shocks
Eibach 200lb 8" springs with adjustable spring perches
    IPD poly torque rod bushings
    IPD panhard bar bushings
custom adjustable torque rods (powdercoated black)
custom adjustable panhard bar (powdercoated black)
    Lemforder rubber trailing arm bushings
    turbo rear swaybar (powdercoated black)

    Misc:
    lower chassis brace
    rolled fenders

    wheels from the craigslist ad:

the day I picked them up:

more pics to follow as I get started! Should be able to get started refinishing the wheels this weekend!

Thanks! I actually read about it on a hot rod forum and figured it was worth a shot. It turned out better than I could have hoped!

Awesome, thanks for the advice, that's exactly what I was thinking, doing 2 all around and seeing where I'm at

Awesome. I love seeing pre-1980 200s, they seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately.

Makes me miss the red/black two tone interior in my '79 242.

And my buddy's turbo 245 down 3 coils all around:

Just for some Volvo inspiration, from the Clockwork Calibrations Volvo gang here in Albuquerque.
