Introducing: The Least Stanced Car on Stanceworks!

After scouring the junkyards looking for a good hatch to steal, I stumbled upon a 1976 wagon that had BOTH bumpers tucked. I had only seen it done once by stanceworks user Carter and it's something I knew I would never get around to actually doing myself, so I was stoked to have found them! I snagged all the brackets that had been shortened and rewelded and threw them on. I was a little unsure at first since they were VERY tucked, but I love them now! It's something unique that you don't see a lot of Volvo guys with the commando bumpers doing. I'm going to try and see if the top rubber trim from the newer plastic bumpers will work since they go farther back on the sides, but for now it's still great.

and here you can see how much they were shortened

You're wagon is like the much better looking twin. Mine is the one that gets gum thrown in it's hair

It's getting closer! Picked up an aluminum belly pan, a front poly bushing kit, and a poly front swaybar bushing kit from the IPD summer sale!

and I also snagged a front swaybar from a turbo wagon and got it powdercoated to match

out with the old

and in with the new

got the rear bar installed as well, even though it's small, the car never had one originally so it definitely made a big difference in the corners!

also found a really straight hatch at the junkyard since mine has a huge dent in it

and while I was doing the swaybars I decided to test fit the wheels. I still have to trim the studs down so they will sit in 1/4" farther than where they are now which will be just about perfect!

Thanks! I can't really speak for other cars on cut springs, but as far as the volvo goes, cut springs aren't bad at all, I think it really depends on the car though. The ride quality is really not much different from before I cut them and I have 3 out of the front and 2 out of the back right now.Originally posted by Omnious View PostI'm curious, when is it okay to cut springs? Half the time on this website I see people throw shit storms for cut springs and others people encourage it.
Regardless, loving it! That inspiration Volvo is sick too

haha yea I swear you can't drive a block in SE Portland without seeing at least 1 or 2 wagons. I mean they're all owned by old hippies that have run them into the ground, but they're still everywhereOriginally posted by Z33_Taxi View PostI have no such luck here in NY. Junkyards have no 240s in them. I'm the only one rolling around...So I feel obligated to do everything right. With great wagons come great responsibility
