After scouring the junkyards looking for a good hatch to steal, I stumbled upon a 1976 wagon that had BOTH bumpers tucked. I had only seen it done once by stanceworks user Carter and it's something I knew I would never get around to actually doing myself, so I was stoked to have found them! I snagged all the brackets that had been shortened and rewelded and threw them on. I was a little unsure at first since they were VERY tucked, but I love them now! It's something unique that you don't see a lot of Volvo guys with the commando bumpers doing. I'm going to try and see if the top rubber trim from the newer plastic bumpers will work since they go farther back on the sides, but for now it's still great.

and here you can see how much they were shortened

oh and I also picked up the center caps for the wheels (Thanks eBay!!) They're Trans AM GTA caps to stay true to where the wheels came from and I think they will go great with the black lug nuts and gold faces, which will be matched to the gold of the phoenix on the caps.

I've been getting as much as I can done before the summer winds down but unfortunately I'm going to have to wait on getting the wheels on until the spring, RSI has taken over 4 months since I ordered springs and perches for the rear and the struts for the front and I still haven't gotten them yet, so that's awesome

anyways, I got the new hatch all shaved and painted along with the front air dam and it matches PERFECTLY!

and I also got the wheels done, FINALLY!! Now I just need to get them over to the painter and then get the tires on them, and then they get to sit in my room until next spring...

Well done, can't wait to see this on the finished wheels.

Fun side note: I had that same vintage space heater… Just kicked it to the curb a month ago when it quit working.

Love it. I'll be using the same wheels on my 745t. I'm also waiting on a bunch of things from RSI... it sucks.
