  • Just another e36 from md

so, i purchased a very low priced e36 recently, and i figured it may be a stance candidate. it had a nice misfire when i purchased it, plugs and a valve cover gasket seems to have fixed that. now on to the pics:

here she is in her natural habitat

i know she needs some paint work, but thats how it looked when i drove it home. i may continue with the red/brown primer scheme, i sort of like the color.

i picked up a couple sets of wheels to test fit. once i pick which set i'm going to run, i will have to decide on the tire size.

first up, style 19's (17x8 all round)

yes, i need to buy new roundels for the centercaps

    my other choice, 17x8.5 et13 borbet type-t's

both sets of wheels are currently fitted with 235/45-17 tires.

the car currently has 100% stock suspension, my driveway is crooked and causes the wheel gap to appear uneven.

what do you guys think? i may end up keeping both sets, using the style 19's for dd, and the borbets for shows and cruising.
    gooby pls

i made a tiny bit of progress, i'm working on making the car all one color. I had some spare time, so i sanded and primed the hood and fender. its coming out great so far, just need to snag some more primer and do the rest.

    gooby pls

Wow, talk about a blank canvas! I'd go with the style 19s, just a nicer looking wheel than those bland 5 spokes. Good luck, you've a lot of work ahead.

Style 19's for show, Borbets for DD. the 19's are more legit than the choice B. so far, so good op!

I will be running the style 19's for a while. i may refinish them at some point, we'll see. Once the pollen dies down here, i will attempt to get the rest of the car primed and roll the rear fenders.

Did you paint the lower area of your windshield too ?

So what color are you gonna paint it? I assume youre gonna do a spray bomb, right?
Love the Style 19s, just get some proper tires for them!

yes, i have a good bit of overspray on the base of the windshield, but only because it has a huge crack in it, and it will be replaced.

for the time being, it will remain covered in that sexy "ruddy brown" primer. originally the car was "mauritiusblau-metallic". i don't want to get a cheap maaco paint job, so i will have to save up to get it done right.

i'm still looking for the right tire size for how i want it to sit. i'm not going for 100% scrapage. i want it to still ride halfway decent, have a little bit of ground clearance, and be able to go around some bends. so i'm probably going with shocks/springs, instead of coilovers.
