  • Project: Grandad - Diesel Wagon.

Evening all, I'll keep it simple,
    Have this as a project:

Skoda Fabia (soon to be lower and with a 1.8T, currently 1.4 8V) Spec is currently too long to list (Can't be bothered)

    Daily used to be this:

    Skoda Felicia from 1997/8 1.3mpi 8V

I got bored of that after 8 or so months and a friend wanted it for his girlfriend, then a deal on a diesel Estate came up at work (I work for skoda in sales) Paid £2,500 and got this:

It's a 1.9 TDI Skoda Octavia from 2004 standard at 90Bhp. Believe it or not, that is on Weitec coilovers, wound halfway down, -50mm. Mods so far are, fully poly bushed, Poly dogbone mount, upgraded rear ARB, Front ARB from golf R32 to clear drive shafts, Front upper and lower strut brace from an audi S3, rear strut bars (see boot picture). OMP Steering wheel (modified). Custom 3 inch turbo back de-cat stainless exhaust full system, Powerflow Air filter and remap to suit. the ass dyno recons around 150 BHP. Custom wheel well subwoofer enclosure and JL Audio sub and Kenwood radio. Painted side strips and grill, headlights lightly smoked.

    Future plans are,
    Uprated injectors (from tdi 110)
    Upgraded turbo (from PD150)
Gunning for 200BHP if I am honest.
    Wheels
Lows (Once skid plate is made)
    Stance.
Matt Black Roof and other little bits
Whatever ideas i may get from friends and from just staring at it like an artist stares at a blank canvas (read 1.8 tonnes of metal)

I will try and keep this updated but this is just the daily... so may be a little slow moving.

    For now, some pics: Enjoy.

    Comments welcome.

i dig how your sub is mounted. nice to see something clean compared to the usual box in the trunk. is that carbon fiber around your gauge cluster?

Thanks man, yea, used to just throw a box in the back and screw it down, figured something neater was needed, It's just fake carbon wrap, about £10/meter from a well known online auction site.

In other news, a PD150 turbo has been found but monies need to be saved.

Have both the Stickerbomb and Stickerbomb 2 books by Studio Rawekwai, so did them all manually, then cut out what needed to be cut out.

I'm looking forward to the progression too... think I may have wheels in mind also... views?

            Teaser:

            Specs:
8.5J and 9.5J Et 35 18 inch front and rear respectively...

So... sorry to have taken a while.

Back from Morocco and arrived back to a knackered PD150 turbo on my doorstep.

Step 1... Get angry that it was completely knackered beyond anything that the seller had mentioned...

                Step 2 ... Call turbotechnics.

Step 3... wait and get this back a week later:

The turbo was fitted yesterday along with the Tdi 115 injectors and an EGR blanking plate... and the result?

Awesome fun for 10 miles (feels about 170Bhp with around 340nm) and then?

New full racing clutch and single mass lightened flywheel is on order...

Could have predicted it was gunna go 97k miles on the original one and only specced to 110 Bhp max...

                Thanks for reading.

                Doug.
