You're going to rust the Euro bumpers? Why... Why rust the hood either? Your explanation makes no sense.

Good luck with it.
I'd take them off your hands.

I cleaned the car because it's been sitting for 3 years and there was tumble weeds growing in the grills and black widows in the interior. My goal is not to make it look beat up. I am rusting the hood and the bumpers because I like the look.

in all honesty, im confused as to why you are bothering cleaning up the car if your final goal is to make it look beat up.Last edited by NegativeCamber; 02-27-2012, 01:52 PM.

The Euro E30
Here is my project from the very beginning:
I bought the euro e30, 83' 323i grey market car, at a shop in downtown Phoenix for $250 because they were going to scrap it. It didn't have an engine in it but it came with it also along with a turbo manifold and some other things. We decided the stuff we didn't need we would sell or scrap and we would put in a motor we had extra laying around which is an ETA and use my boyfriends transmission off of his old car. We towed it back to my house a week before Christmas thinking we were going to get it running in a weekend.
Here it is sitting at the shop, it has been sitting since 2009:
So a few months flew by and we weren't sure if we were going to keep it since we just hadn't gotten around to working on it. Then we thought it was maybe just too much work and I should just buy a running e30. A week ago a guy wanted to trade his E21 so I offered to trade for the euro car and I would set the engine in it and pay $150 on top of that. So he comes over and I take a look at the E21 and it was not what I was thinking but it ran..Then we walked to go look at the euro E30 and I fell in love with it all over again. We started talking about what we planned on doing with it and what it would look like. Then the guy said he would trade if we got it running, and that's a load of shit. If I got it running he better put money on top of his car. Idiot, anyway we got the motivation to start working on it a few days later. We took it out from the side of my house and rolled it in the driveway and gave it a good wash. It actually cleaned up better than I thought.
After it was cleaned:
The car doesn't need much to get started; hoses, wiring harness, and battery. The rest I have is coming off of my boyfriends car that he doesn't need anymore. So yesterday I picked up some hockey pucks and we made the motor mounts and picked up the eta motor. It needs to be power washed so that's being done today. Also yesterday we cleaned up the engine bay with silver to make it look clean and got the wiring harness done.
Engine Bay and Front (bumpers got taken off for cleaning):
Now the motor goes in today and we'll start hooking things up. Next month I will be rusting the hood, changed out the interior for tan hopefully, put in wooden steering wheel, wooden shift nob, and a wooden roof rack. Then I thought I would paint the bumpers black but when we started cleaning them I decided that I will let them rust naturally. Hopefully in the end it will just be a cheap cool rat car that I can drift.
