  • E36 Coupe From Australia

Hey all. My names Jonny Page, i'm from the australia east coast.
I'm a apprentice mechanic and this is my daily drive / Weekend racer shes an e36 328i manual 5speed.
    Enjoy.

This is how she was when I first bought her. Stock as a rock other than previously gutter rashed type 44's of an e46 and blacked out kidneys, first thing I did.

    Then I got a set of 18's

Followed by getting sick of the vanos not working, and front bar scratches so off came the front end of the car and the motor and fresh paint and vanos seals were replaced.

Painted the 18s, scrounged up some rubber and that gets us to here

Got sick of the front end being all bright and stuff so I used some lamin-x film, paint the type 44s and also installed a police scanner.

This was from one of my first local events. Its basically a one minute track with a clay surface. This was how she looked after the first run with some 5 series stockies.

Bought another set of wheels and found they wouldn't clear the fronts.

After a long drive to the Gold Coast I came back with these for a little over $100.

found they would need some big spacers on the front to clear the shocks,
There 19x9 and 19x10 havent bothered to check offsets but they're standard X5 gear.

Then at another round of the same local even. I found the wall on a very muddy day.

Which lead to everything coming off again.

Then followed another eBay impulse buy and a second car was bought. 1984 bmw 318i manual factory sunroof and air con with no power steer in factory baby vomit green. Bought with seized motor and to be fixed by me. Has since been fixed and is for sale.

Meanwhile the e36 got finished with a new m front bar, door mouldings and foglights,

Box of goodies arrived and installed. For the keen eyed ones they are BC racing BR series.
So far so good with around 1500kms on them and still going strong,

And finally after working alot at my second job I bought some rubbers!

and than bring us today. Rear coilovers and maxed out with the adjusters removed and I cant go any lower on the front without loosing guards every time I turn a corner
Let me know what you guys thinks.

    Cheers
    Jonny

Love the rear fitment, but 19s on e36s are FAR to big.

I thought so at first. But they are growing on me. The ride is still pretty good but originally I only wanted max 18s.

Looks good Go lower/smaller on the tyres, then you can go lower on coils.(or down 1" on wheels) The car looks good but i think it needs 1/2" in the front

I'd love an inch lower on the front. But if I turn and hit a bump I'll be taking chunks out of the guards and I'm always on the look out for new wheels and I dare say I won't be going 19s again. But as they are I'm happy for now thanks for the good words
