i was thinking about painting my intake and valve cover the same colour scheme as that and now im sold on doing it.

I used VHT satin black on the intake and the valve covers. I used flat and glossy black on other parts, but i think satin black is the best choice for the valve covers an the intake. In the E9 i'll use wrinkle finish on the Alpina Airbox for the 45mm Weber carbs...

keep going!! its soo nice. when i was a mechanic i very rarely got excited about working on cars except when i got ahold of an alpina, fun to get parts for in the states but just about as good as a bmw gets.
