  • My Volvo. Just Grocery Shopping On The Reg.

I own a 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo. I thought it was about time I start a build thread for it since this Spring it will be going to pretty nice changes.

This is it in all her glory this summer:

Got tired of the factory look and not a whole changing in the scene, so I started buy and selling wheels, trying to find the right set. Came across these:

Eventually picked up these BBS RS178. The RS that nobody wants, made me want to keep it even more:

While sitting on those. Sold my suspension set up

    So I looked like this:

Because these were going to go in:

Fast forward. A 17x9.5 wheel wasn't going to fit up front. Called up Rotiform and got these:

    To go with these:

And they started looking like these:

BBS RS178 17x8.5 et41 and 17x9.5 et55. Bought some adapters today. 15mm in front and 34mm in the rear. In a month or so, tires will be ordered and once the salt and shit is off of the roads, they'll go on.

I'll update this as stuff happens. Will also have new pics of my car this weekend from our local get together.

Finished these up the other night:

          Then put them on these:

Still have to put together the last two, but now that I've gotten the hang of it, that will be a piece of cake. Piece of crumb cake.

Thought about painting the inside of the rear barrels black to match? just a thought...

Looking good Gabe! See ya this weekend!

Very nice! I've owned 2 850s and loved them both. First was a 96 850R sedan and then a 96 turbo wagon. Sold the sedan to my mother in law when we bought the wagon and then I let a friend borrow it and he ended up totalling it. I see you've reversed the intercooler flow, have you had it dyno'd yet since then?

Front Mount instead of the Reverse Intercooler Piping aka RIP kit which is overpriced. haha

Oh, hey John. And no, I didn't think of that, and no, I do not want to do that. The wheels are done and put together and I'm not doing anything else to them unless it has to do with tires and lug nuts. lol

Yeah, what John said. It's a FMIC. And I have not had it dyno'd yet. I've never gotten to the point of being able to really dial in boost and what not with just random issues always occurring. Right now I put in some what were supposed to be good axles only find that the second I lowered the car, it ruined the passenger side axle and tore the boot wide open. I'm hoping for somewhere in 260 whp range.

But the wheels are done and put together:

And now they're just waiting to be wrapped

Also have adapters on the way. 15mm in front and 37mm in the rear. Will post pics when I get them and test fit the wheels.
