Take a look at Huffy Sliders or Green Machines.

There's a niche industry of aftermarket parts available for them and they seem to be the best way to get into it.

Like I said in the original post, mine was made by my mate out of a spare BMX we had. Haven't got around to upgrading the brake just yet, all my money is going into the Bimmer at the mo. Just adjusted the caliper and now it brakes properly without so much smoke...
