  • what other v6/tt/awd 90's jap cars can you remember?

i decided to start a thread because i'm hoping i'll have progress/results to post sometime next week! here's my intro thread to catch you guys up:

A place for the new guys to come and post their proper introductions.

basically no one has ever "properly stanced" a vr4, so that's what i wanna do. a lot of people on 3si (and probably other 3/s forums) dislike this kinda stuff, so the results should be fun

as of now we're at this:

most recent i have (on lowering springs, i haven't taken any on my coilovers because i'm waiting for my wheels to adjust the ride height)

18x10 and 18x12, gonna tuck hard and not roll/pull my fenders to do it.... ordering some camber adjustable rear control arms from 3sx tomorrow and we're gonna test fit the wheels hopefully sunday/monday. i'm so pumped! and as for my friend's car, i hope it doesn't get snowed in my yard! haha we're doing a wheel/fitment swap for my dad and i to give a previously stanceworks featured m3 some fresh paint and body work. should be a sweet winter/spring.

Nice. I have wanted to see this shit for years.

Watch out though, cause when you hammer these things, the rear wheels like to get mad toe in. I'm sure you've been over this before, just double tapping it. Idk if they make different trailing arms or what, but I would assume that might take care of it?

that was exactly our problem even with the lowering springs, and now my rear tires on the stock wheels i have are legally bald because of the horrible toe in (on the insides). and yeah you're right with the trailing arms, i'm hopefully ordering some later today!

Can you run staggereds on an AWD without fucking up the transfer case? I know subaru and volvos are very weird about that. Looks good tho. Onward.

as long as the tire size (or the overall rotational size) is the same then we're good. if i was running 17's and 18's then i'd have problems if i wasn't rotating the same amount of rubber

me too man! haha ollie is coming by later this afternoon so i'll get some progress pics on tonight. we're worried about strut clearance at the moment so i really hope we can get something to work today.

also, my official plans for this spring: single shot exhaust, steering wheel (nardi <3 ) and some sweet stickers haha i also plan to fix the small rust issues on my e30, paint it up and get the gauges working and put it on the market for either a 240sx or an fcrx7. i'm looking to get into drifting like i've always wanted to. i'm gonna be 19 in a month and im tired of watching from the sidelines of the local events haha

Oh this has my attention. Hopefully it will help to inspire me to get my '92 SL TT swapped car back on the road.

anyways, i need to get 16mm spacers for the fronts to fit, but they will tuck nicely with a little camber, and i'm getting smaller tires for the rear wheels (since it's AWD i have to keep the rolling diameter the same), and i'm still ordering my camber adjustable arms and the rears will fit flawlessly. i can't friggen believe that 18x12 will be able to fit with a little bit of camber and NO rolled fenders (we may tap the insides of the rears just a tad bit but nothing huge at all). i'm going back to school tomorrow so it'll be a few weeks till i come back home for some snowmobiling and updates!
