  • My GTI

Hey all, so I haven't really posted much here (only in the classifieds), but I have nothing better to do since I just finished my undergrad. The car is an '02 GTI 1.8t. I was on ksport coilovers for less than a year before I went with air.

    The current setup is
    Front - Airlift lifestyle
Rear - AH2 bags on bilstein shocks
    Manual valves
    Single viair 444c
5 gallon tank and shitty hardlines; I will probably change up the lines once spring comes along
I notched the frame about a month ago, but unfortunately, My control arms are now getting caught on the subframe so I have some more trimming to do before I can lay frame

I still need to finish wrapping up the false floor, but again, that will come after winter. Anyways, here are a bunch of pics

These puppies should be going on after winter. I meant to get em on in the fall but I got caught up with school and couldnt finish them. I have my adapters and everything but I am still considering different lip sizes. Unfortunately, I dont really want to run 10+ inch wheels so my options are limited. I cant wait to get some poke in my life!

    And for fun

It took me a good month to choose the color. I originally was going to go with white, but ended up wanting some more color so it was between green or a light blue. I kind of wish I went with light blue but I am sure that if I went with it, I would be wishing for green. It probably wont stay like that too long though, I will probably end up with white eventually

Although the shade of green is a bit off (it was green painters tape) this assisted in my decision on going with green

this is gonna look brilliant witht the green wheels buddy!

They look smaller than the wheels you have on it justnow so surely you can go lower once the bbs' are on?

Lololol! Thanks guys. Yeah the RS's are 17's so the smaller wheel size, along with some stretch, and some decent size adapters, should be able to drop it a bit more once I trim the subframe

So I completed my timing belt a couple of hours ago (after two days of working on it) so I decided to treat my self

I probably should have finished polishing the lip Not sure If I am going to run those as I would prefer throwing the 1" lips on the front wheels. Still need to buy some gold bolts; whats the cheapest place to buy em, black forest industries?

Also, to the mkiv vw guys, anyone running air lift lifestyle front struts? My control arms are definitely catching the sub frame so I will be trimming it up in a week or two, but I feel like my struts are pretty much bottomed out so I am not sure if it will help me lay frame or not.

Any body on the old air lift struts and able to lay frame? Going from 18's to 17's causes too much fender to wheel clearance
