This is my 2003 24v VR6. I bought it new from the dealership in August of 2003 and have been nothing but happy with it ever since, in all of its iterations.

First shot of the car, with a Brembo one-piece rotor BBK, Neuspeed springs (1.5" drop, bitches!) and Bilstein shocks and struts.

This was an in-between phase where I thought I wanted a boser hood... So glad I got rid of that hood! By this time the car had a VF Stage II supercharger kit on it and was a ton of fun to drive. I'd also gotten a Jetex 2.5" catback exhaust, Hella Celis headlights, VF motor mounts, Audi TT Fat 5 wheels, Peloquin LSD, H&R rear swaybar, and a Spec Stage 2+ clutch.

Cosmetically, the car came together much more in this shot. I'd finally fitted my euro front bumper, Votex front lip and Japan-spec front rubstrip. I also picked up my favorite wheels, Stern Reverse Face III in 17x8.5 and 17x9.5... I know the tires and wheelgap are big but this was just before I got coilovers.

This is what happened soon after I got my B&G coilovers.

I'd been wanting some more power out of the V9 supercharger so I picked up a 2.5" pulley and had Jeff Atwood of United Motorsports tune the car for the new pulley. It ended up with 300 whp, which was a shit-ton more fun than the ~260 it had before.

That last shot was in 2008, shortly before I took the car off the road to go under the knife for a bit of a power upgrade...

I wanted to do something different with the car so at 175,000 miles (Nov. 2008) I took it off the road, parked it in Driversport in Mahopac, NY, and began to remove the motor with the HUGE help of Greg and Tim. The easy gruntwork is left to me and the skilled labor of fabrication, wiring and tuning will be done by Greg (who now works at Tyrolsport) and Tim. Swoops is doing the wire tuck and hardlines, of course. The motor was rebuilt by Olsen's Engines in Nyack, NY.

Any parts that aren't mentioned have been replaced with new OEM parts or the original parts were still good. The motor specs:

      Head
1mm oversized Ferrea Super Alloy intake and exhaust valves
INA/034 Valve Spring set with Titanium retainers
      Head polish and minor port
      ARP headstuds
      United Motorsports Intake Manifold

      Bottom End
      Bored to 2.9L
      Wossner rods, pistons and rings
      ARP rod bolts
      Balanced crank
      New OEM rod bearings
      ARP main studs

      Turbos and Exhaust manifolds
GT 28R (2860)Dual Ball Bearing GT28R Turbo assembly with internal wastegate assembly. .64ar turbine with 5 bolt exit.
"ebay special" HPA clone twin turbo exhaust manifolds, extrude honed

      Fueling
      Aeromotive A1000 in-line pump
      Walbro 255lph in-tank pump
      630cc Genesis injectors
Braided stainless -AN lines and fittings

      Management
      United Motorsports Tune
Turbosmart eBoost 2 boost controller and gauge

The car will be cooled with an air-to-water setup using an Earl's oil cooler as a front mount and a Garret heat exchanger. All lines will be -AN, either stainless or cloth braided.
The radiator will be replaced with a Mishimoto unit and cloth braided -AN lines will be used for coolant lines.

Almost all necessary supporting modifications have been done to the car:

Tar Ox 6-piston one-piece rotor kit
OEM 20th Anniversary Edition GTI rear brake kit
      Peloquin Torque-biasing Differential
Spec Stage II+ clutch (will most likely be the first item to be replaced)
      H&R rear swaybar
      H2 Sport spindles
      B&G RS2 Coilover system
      Raxles Axles

Pictures of things that took place over the course of the last 3 years while the shop made money off of real customers

More progress from the past 3 years...

Finally a good picture of the work, taken by d.tek!

        More parts
        FMIC and oil cooler

        My first Fragola order...

        More progress

Power steering reservoir and coolant overflow

        Tar Ox BBK

        Oil cooler mounted

        United Motorsports Handiwork

        Hardlines by Swoops

        Aeromotive A1000

        Sportster CS

        Custom fabricated exhaust

And that's where the car is now. It should be running within the next two weeks. I need to check my phone to see if I've got any more pictures since the car is actually a bit more put together than I can show currently.

But after all that, I know I need to lower it.

Thanks to you both. We're sooooooooo close to having it finished, I'm practically salivating at the prospect of driving it again.

I wish it was 4-Motion. I bought this car just before the R32s came out... big whiff on that move but I'm working with what I've got. A 4-Motion conversion may be in the cards once this is done.

Great work on the exhaust, looking forward to the finished product. Would love to see the numbers it puts down. Why a twin turbo build though?

All credit is due to Tyrolsport Greg for the fab work! Mega-super-talented dude.

You have to tell me this on two different forums?

When I had the supercharger, I always said I'd never put a turbo on my car since I loved the charger so much... I decided to use semantics to get out of that statement and put two turbos on the car. Plus I like to do things a bit differently.
