Neither of us wanted to take it 100% back to stock, as we still like to hit the local meets.
That's understandable.. At least, it'll still look sex!

I'm not sure yet to be honest. I have a company car that I use as a daily, and the 300's getting turned in next year for something that just my wife will drive. I'll either be modifying her car or I'll be picking up something that's a bit more of a project than I've had in the past.

I felt the same way for the first year they were out, but after having been in a first gen since 2006, the slight makeover and interior/technology upgrades put it so far out ahead of it's predecessor that it was hard to turn away. Throw in the more powerful VVT 5.7 and it was an easy call for me.

lol Thanks! I have a lot of people tell me they dislike 300's, but mine was okay in their book. I've never bought a car without a vision of it fully modified in my head. I think people's initial impressions of certain cars is much like them complaining about the paint color in the house they just walked through. It can always be changed to fit your liking!

        • The BC coilovers will be here next week. The air ride is completely stripped, boxed and ready to go to it's new owner. I'm looking forward to removing some of the cement sidewalk at the end of my driveway after the BC's go in. I'll post up some pics of the install as things progress. For now, another week of hibernation.

          • I'm not sure if this was just a freak incident, but my BC's had me thinking I was still on air ride with the "straight out of the box" settings. Only issue is, I couldn't just hit the up switch to gain the necessary clearance for my jacks. I had to get a little inventive, but all is well.

Here's a cell phone shot of what it looked like after I first put it back on the ground to see what the factory settings were like:

After putting it back on the stands, I went around to all four corners to make my adjustments based on what I saw above (the rear was also laid out). Here's how it sat after the second adjustment:

With these wheels, I needed to go lower, so here's where I ended up:

I don't have much memory of what my adjustable Koni Yellows/UAS setup was like, but it feels like a go-cart in comparison to my most recent UAS/stock strut setup. lol I'm very pleased so far! Now for the underside of my car... it's not too happy with the most recent change.

I do in some circumstances as well. Having said that, this setup rides even tighter than my UAS/adjustable Koni Yellows did on my SRT. I'm a touch below where my lowest #1 AccuAir setting was, and if I left it at that setting when driving the car around the city, I wouldn't have any fenders left by the time I got home.

It's really nice to be able to drive it at this height, although I've had to modify some of my routes. lol I was also one of those who would carry an air ride survival kit when going on road trips, so I don't miss lugging around all that extra equipment. I only had a few issues over the last 7 years, but it was enough to convince me that the things you think never could happen to you... will most definitely end up happening.

Well that's a bonus... What's a survival kit you speaking of? I'm going air in the next few weeks, so I'll need that lil kit too haha

Some are more thorough than others with what they carry on road trips, but I'm a big believer in having the right tools and replacement hardware to make sure I can repair most anything that could happen on the road. I carried some extra PTC fittings to splice in new air line, miscellaneous wiring connectors/fuses, a new front/rear bag, and the right tools to be able to get the car in the air as well as replace the basic parts listed above.

Everyone's different, but I didn't like the thought of being stranded.
