Bmw e34 1994

Bought this car yesterday, BMW E34, year 1994. Started its life as 525TDS, driven over 400.000km, said the previous owner atleast. The engine died last year, and it has been sitting in his garage since.
The color is Diamondschwartz Metallic and the car has light leather in it.

Looks mint compared to age.

I got it without engine, not decided what to drop in it, ideas welcome.

Drove 40-50km to get it, and towed it back to my house.

Good luck finding a new engine, but if it were me, I would go for an S62, best BMW V8 imo

I've always liked the shape of this style BMW, sorta like a W124, maybe do a M5 motor swap? Newer the better I think.

the body looks good.

about engine,, you have many options: on budget theres M60B40, M50 turbo.. or you can 2JZ it (many people have done it), or find a S62, S52 with 1 or 2 bolt-on's

whats the plan for the low?

I actually just looked for used 2001-2003? M5 engines, and, did they have problems with their engine blocks? A bunch of the ones I saw said, hole in engine block, bad block, block welded, sold for parts...or is it that everyone that owns a M5 beats the shit of it till they send an internal part through the block haha. Although, I think if there is an interchangeable block that BMW makes that you can use instead of the M5 block, I think you're good
