Man i've been slack keeping this updated lol, well here you go guys, copied from my original build thread so the timing is gonna be wrong but hey.

So brakes went in, feels normal on the street, but when you heat them up they grab like getting a bear hug from the Hulk. RDA slotted rotors and QFM A1RM pads, was all a lot easier than I thought it would be. My documenting of it all is pretty poor but we didn't have much time and I was covered in brake dust for most of it.

    So out with the old.

    Waiting to be awesomafied.

    In with the new.

Oh and I was in a crash, not my fault, they ended up painting half my car.

And I tried teeth on for a month.

    Cleaned it up again.

    Little awesomes...

Changed out my shifter turret oil, damn it was bad, this is the good stuff, there was like tar sediment in there i scraped out with a rag and screwdriver.

    Replaced my soft top caps.

    Awesome workshop shot.

    And an older one.

My centre console got really hot in the sun so I covered it in fabric and put some foam in there too to make it comfier.

And filled in the empty space under my head unit.

Made a thing for the boot hole too because the griptape on my longboards was eating through the other and the mdf had had water so it was warped anyways.

Crooz and Mr. Pham got my a number plate bracket for my birthday, after the accident I used to original number plate bracket so I didn't have holes in the new bumper, if you were wondering why it went center set.

Took out my inner fenders to find i'd actually worn through them with the stock rims, ballin.

Put in a new intake setup, heaps better throttle response, seems to idle better and sound more awesome too.

      From this.

      To this.

Finally, rims went on Monday, now who says our cars aren't practical?

So tread wise went from this. Yes, that is a nail.

To this, so traction is HEAPS better, just doesn't want to let go.

Where they sat went from this.

To this, the whole steering feel is more responsive as well as lighter.

So I needed to get my guards rolled, which has been done but now I have to fix my paint, which i just spent the last 3 hours attempting on one corner to only make things worse.

So all in all went from this.

        To this.

In other news, one of my headlights blew.

So I figured I had better fix that. I went with white bulbs, doesn't look like it in this, but they are white.

          Difference lighting wise.

I also changed it to clear glass lights.

Looks as clean as it's going to get haha.

Now as I get my opens next week I took the P plate off the rear garnish to find it had destroyed all the paint under it because of the moisture and heat, so I gave it a sand and painted it grey for now, Ill fix that when I do all the other panels.

It seems like you can never go wrong with the first generation of MX5.
A proper slam, some nice wheels and you're almost done having a cool car.
            Nice ride so far.
My 1978 Porsche 924 build thread is quite boring.

Haha, sorry man but its not going lower than 60mm, besides sacrificing more handling I wouldnt be able to make it into my driveway to clean it lol. But when I finish making my front lip it'll at least look low.

So because im super slack, heres and update since rims.

Tried painting the lettering on the tires which looks unreal, but it lasts like a week before all cracking up, so its no longer on there.

Thought this was a cool shot.

Got an exhaust system, 4-2-1 headers ending 2.25" to mild steel with hi flow cat, resonator and muffler, the tip im still working on getting it how I want, but im sure ill get unlazy at some point and finish it.

Heat wrapped it because it made the trans tunnel really hot. This was taken half way through wrapping it so theres still some exposed at the base.

Got some new shiny frame rail braces to scrape along the ground, they actually make it kind of hurt because of the sharp edge and lack of give.

                      More feel good shots.

Oh I resprayed my bonnet somewhere in there too and am planning on painting the rest of it to match up with the resprayed side, problem is I have better paint so its blacker.

I recently painted my ashtray JDM Baller white.

Because I seem to have missed this, I found this stuff while painting my car, all hidden in the boot...

So I decided to make some custom door cards, half following this:

and half my own. So basically I just made them out of ABS plastic, straps are nylon webbing, its mounted by putting screws through the original pop in things that have been shortened, the speaker holes I just cut out and used the mesh from the originals.

Still needs a little work and i'm going to re-trim the top when I find what i'm looking for, but for now, i'm happy with them.

                              Before:

                              After:

                              And low life...
