it was an easy job too, little frame fix and just a set of 67 seat covers. One of my favorite mods to this car yet. No highbacks blocking the view through, clean line of site straight thru the car, huge improvement.Originally posted by Nick475 View Postlove the lowbacks
you and me both, i get just as excited to see a great bug that has been left natural, i love the patina scene, but i had the opportunity to go clean and im very happyOriginally posted by 244Brick View PostI love that this is so clean!! nice work.. Don't get me wrong a nice patina bug is nice, but this is great haha

Got anymore info on this? I wanted to do this to my highback seats but i think mine are different. What covers do you get specifically?Originally posted by DasBohan View Post

67 squareback covers from jbug
your either the full highbacks like mine or the squaretop highbacks (there are 2 different squaretop models) but regardless the cut is all the same. Cut off the sidewall (the large steel tubing framing the entire seat) level with the top of the back support springs, see picture below:

then i used 2 1/4" metal rods to reframe the square seat

ziptied them and then a couple tap welds, reupholstered them to snug with some high density foam

its a layering process to get it to form up exactly how you want it

dash is about 6" tall, framed with the steering wheel it messes with you. Wheel is 15" even smaller than OEM.Originally posted by floatingdino View PostDo you need a boat license to drive this? The steering wheel looks humongous in these photos.
I like it though.
although i do have a boaters license...
