a while ago I bought this Touring with a blown engine as a donor car for my 540i . . . sadly (and stupidly on my part for not checking ) it has the "wrong" red . . while the 40 is "Hellrot" . . this 20 is "Brillantrot" . . so it was sitting in front of my workshop for quite a while now . .
the options it came with were close to none . . so there's no use in parting it out . . but on the plus side, it has a very good rustfree body . .

then I decided to do something with it . . as if I didn't have enough "started" projects
anyway . . every spring me and a few friends drive to France to get a little wild on a privately owned hillclimb racetrack in the alps . . sadly, for some stupid reason there's a 3l displacement maximum . . . so I decided to build me a family-stationwagon-hillclimb-racer . . . and since it will never be legal to drive this on Swiss road, I'm gonna keep it "cheap" . .
sure there would be better cars to start with then a 2l E34 station wagon. . but that would just be too easy . . .
first of all, the ugly grey coth interior had to go . .
aah . . . all nice and empty!
Then I started looking for a engine-doner-car to replace the sad and useless M50B20 which has a broken timing chain . .
found it!!
this is it . . (nope . . not the Alfa . .)
S50B30 . . . . .
after a bit of making a mess . .
test-sitting nicely in the E34 engine bay!
since the load should stop in a hurry I also got a set of German-750i Brake calipers . . not the "fanciest" brakes around . . but should do the job . .
to be continued. ...
