BMW E30 US Project :) From Belgium

Nice car. Saw this one last summer at the Big E30 Meeting in Sint-Niklaas. I liked the US-style. Only thing you still need are side-markers. As a 4-door fanatic I really liked it.

I saw that it's for sale, but how are you gonna sell it with the 6 cilinder engine block in it if it's a 4 cilinder engine on paper? As swapping engines isn't allowed in Belgium. I would've put an M42 in it, so it would still be able to pass MOT (as it's a 4 cilinder block too, so they most likely won't notice you've swapped it).

You make nice pictures too, love some of those night-shots! Car looks great in red with the chromeline, wish mine was red too, but black'll have to do.

Hey how'd you get as low as you are. Me and my buddy are trying to go really low on 16x9 raderwerks. We can't figure out a coilover setup, we did stock oem strut/spring and completely took out the spring and was sitting how we want but that's not the route we want to go because there's so much stress on the strut.

I kinda skimmed through the thread slowly so sorry if I missed reading about this.. But any thoughts on skirts for her? That's one thing that bothers me with the e30/28's (i have an e28) not having the bottom line match from the front bumper to the side of the car.. Just curious is all!

Hellooo !


It has been a long time since i cam back here ! Was busy with work and winter was really bad ! So i was most of the time hibernating!

But back again !

Here are some updates !

The e30 has a new Engine 2.0 that how you saw had a rebuilt ! Changed the rims for wider BBS RS replicas !

I am now Runing 10j in the back with 205/40/17 and in the front 8.5 with 195/40/17 ! The strech is really STRECH ! But i love it !

This is a rear differencial i bought for cheap from a friend !

It has a 4,10 rotation with LSD !

Drifting was never this fun !



I present you a part of Brussels Oldtimer ! Small Crew Here in Brussles !





As you know if you where folowing my post i was rebuilding a 2,0 engine !
THings whent bad with the guy i was working with so i decidend to leave the project for later !

Luckaly i had a friend who had a 2,0 E30 in hios garagge that was selling for parts !
So we took all the parts i had reedone from the other engine and started rebulding a secound 2,0 !

Engine out and on stands !


Engine had only 90.000 km but was at a stop for nearly 3 years !

First opening of the cylinder head !



Really really really clean !

Everything was goign back with care and love !



The pistons and piston rods with the crankshaft and the flywheel where all rebalanced and lightened!

The new machined cyl head !

Engine back together !





Spark plugs carefully tightened to BMW specs !



And then some friends joined the party !



Took us nearly 1 week but the engie was back together !



After sleeping 3 hours max we started the swap the very next morning the engine was ready !





Nom Nom Nom Nom New Engien !



Engine is in and looking fresh !



So we caled te local pizza guy for a nice pizza !



After a few moths or carefull driving ! All hell broke loose ! )))






Back to the garge ! Changing the sparkplugs !



After all that winter come Winter + E30 = Fun !

And yes i had summer tyres all winter and the snow was really big Never got stuck But drifting all the way everyday ) FUn FUn !





Got these after christmas : Now waiting for the right moment to put them on :





Many Many Days later and some degrees + I had the rims installed !

I have no pictures of my crankshaft fly wheel and some other part that i do not know the name ! THe 3 of them where lightened and put at the same weight !

when i will return to my friend's Kevin garage where the engine is i will take some other pictures !

I still have to go and get brand new piston rings and other shit !
