17's are wayyy too big for a mk3.
also, if you put mk2 strut mounts on your car, it will give you 2" more suspension travel and allow you to go a little lower.

17'' on mk3 is just plain stupid. 9x16 is the best imo...could be 10x16

17s are doable, but will not look good on all cars. 10x16 is way more plain stupid than 17s... No way in hell you gonna do that on rolled arches and still be low..

16x8-9 is where it's at.. ET25 or higher out back if you run 9s.

Bought some 7.5 x 17 Offset 35.

Tires are 205/40/17 and will be changed for some 185/35/17. Quick Test-Fit:
