Yeah, as long as you're sure the ol' Cressida is reliable then go for it!

I wanted to wait till after the new year, but I am considering throwing it in this weekend. I have everything needed for reassembly, but I need the following before it can run:

5mge oil pan/pick up (from my current motor), have to tap the pan as well for the return on the oil cooler.
    Swap mounts from old motor
One more knock sensor (PO broke it having the motor sit)
    Oil cooler / lines
30 feet of new vacuum lines
    FMIC/piping
    Wiring harness in good shape
Modify harness to be plug in play with my chassis harness.

then live rear axle slides around corners!

Thanks hope to have more to come, went to a local auto parts place to buy 30 ft off various vacuum hose. They don't have metric ID so that won't be updated today lol.

Thanks, yah the digital cluster was an option for all the mx72/73 cars, problem is that the wiring for the older ones (mine) is a ribbon style connector not the normal clip. I have to wire it all up manually (solder), replace the fuel sending unit (digital), and lastly the speedo bracket.

Planning to smog the car this weekend with the 5mge, after I come home I will be pulling the motor same day lol.

How much I cut is perfectly fine since even in the air the spring is never free, the way the previous owner cut I am pretty sure was not nearly as safe. Also cutting in the rear of mine helped since the mk1 supra springs I used were approximately 2" longer, but rates were different since it weighed less than my wagon.

Not much of an update, I got a little more done with the engine, and I ended up having to helicoil 5 out of the 7 exhaust manifold studs:

LOL the aluminum is so soft!

    After:

Sold some wheels and left my gloves in the parking lot, what a bummer. :bash:

LOL I got the headgasket in the rebuild kit, but I am leaving that and the timing alone at this moment. I want to get the motor up and running, if it needs front/head seals I can replace after its in the car. Wheels are 15x7 et0, I can easily fit a 15x9 et0 in the rear comfortably, no camber though since I am live rear axle.

Is it a grey plug harness? I would definitely be interested, does it fit this ECU?
