  • my rx8

i've been quite the lurker around here for some time and i've finally decided to post my car. i must tell you, it's far from perfect. used to be my daily until i started school, but will once again be my daily when the situation arises. i don't have any pictures of when i first got it, but i do have some of the stages it went through

we picked the car up in september of 09 and it didn't take long to start modding

first couple mods: rolled fenders, s techs, 25mm spacers and autobahn front by shine

then i got a mazdaspeed spoiler

then i sold the autobahn front and ditched the spoiler and bought some BC racing coils

ran a mazdaspeed rep unpainted and tried to stickerfy it for a while (just for sh!t's and giggles)

then i picked up a new bumper, a carbon trunk, a set of varrstoen 2.2.1's in 18x10.5 +15 all around wrapped in 265/35 (which gave me tons of fender problems), ditched the side aero, and dropped it (still on the BC racing)

then i picked up a set of powertrix coilovers (because the BC's didn't go low enough for me)

at this point, the drop on the new coilovers made my car undriveable. i was stumped. the wheels and the amount of drop put me in quite some jam. i spent a good month trying to figure out where i was rubbing and how to make it go away.

after much wrenching, dremeling, angle grindering, hammering, and heat guning, i finally got it to the point where the fenders weren't RESTING on the sidewall of the tires. made it to my fender guys house and got everything squared away.

now here we are today rockin -3.5 camber up front and -5.6 camber in the rears

the car is far from finished and will be going through some dramatic changes as time comes. i'll try to keep this thread updated for anyone that is interested, but here are some of the things you guys should keep a look out for.
an INGS+1 front and FEED sides should be going on the car by the end of THIS WEEK and new wheels are going to be coming within a couple months (hopefully)

    THANKS FOR LOOKING

all the bumpers look shit except the one it has in the pic with the old BMW and MobilMart, which is in fact very nice!

the rest of the car is very clean.

I have a question, are these cars as slow as some say?

it ain't the fastest car out there hahah, but with a 1.3L engine, it puts out a pretty good amount of power. it's rated at 230 bhp and 160lb of torque. not to mention the true 50-50 weight distribution (because of the way the engine sits way far back)

i feel obligated to update this thread since i made it hahah. one month later and the car looks completely different. it is now sporting an ings+1 front bumper and feed side skirts to go along with the ings+1 rear add ons.

here are a couple from autocon

i know a lot of people said it looks the best stock, but i have to say, it looks pretty damn good with this kit
