first off hello! and apologies for any continuity issues in my thread as ive copied it from another forum but here goes...

Finally thort id start a build thread ive been on here long enough! Car is a Milano red ej9, car is mechanically brilliant, but unlike a good red wine that gets better with age, red paint certainly does not!
    When I first got it:

    Clean engine bay

First mod was CTR rep grill, but while I was waiting for that mofo to arrive, me n my mate messed about with the standard one while had bumper off to remove the hideous plate holder

Came out well summat a bit different! Evidence of the horrendous paint fade

Found these cheeky little numbers proper cheap on pistonheads, they weren’t in the best of shape but while I was working my mate totally turned em around! Looked like a different wheel!

Type r grill came n finally sorted that out, mate sprayed it up n banged it on, it’s a shame it’s the red its supposed to be it makes the rest of the car look bab!

Next up was CTR lip, props to lance08 on here for sortin me out with that
    Test fit

Sprayed black for the time being, actually looks pretty sweet

Then goy my import size plates, in my opinon really sets off the front end, gives it a mean ass look with the type r stuff

So that’s my build so far, only been a month or so to get to this stage, not sure on dates or wot but ah well, got some pics of the wheel test fit to get up next and jus some coilovers for now, want to get the car sitting right before I do owt else, hope you enjoy!
    Jack

Got some tyres on my wheels today! Bit of info on the wheels there a 7j rim with 165/50r15s bridgestones stretched on, they look quite skinny on pictures but there not that bad in real life haha, there not massive wide but theyre a god damn nice wheel haa

    Wheel on car

Front looks to need a tiddy bit of camber then should be sitting swwweeeeeeet when its lowered

Rear looks as if its gunna be sat perfect when I get coilovers on

Side on, I cant wait to get coilovers

Just need to get coilovers ordered when the cheapo ones come up for sale again hopefully end of this week
    Cheers
    jack

Been a good weeked for the car this week! Got the coilovers and wheels on Friday and Saturday after some major rage at spring clamps and fucking about, and some help from the boys.
Today decided to use my mate robs welder and me rob and my bro knocked up a custom exhaust using my standard back box, for the over LCA bend, and a spare cherry bomb backbox rob had. Its LOUD but sounds properly mint, managed to get it to pop a few times on a little drive I had!
As the car stands I think it looks well although on some of these pics it looks high at the back, its like finding a needle in a haystack finding a level road round here, nevertheless, its gunna be going a bit lower just to get it perfect, but itll do for now.
    Any way a few pics!
    Making the exhaust:
the standard exhaust pipe and cherry bomb were the same diameter, so tack welded them together and made a “sleeve” to cover the join and welded that on for extra strength and to provide the seal.

My first time welding haha, didn’t do too bad tbh, my mate rob in the pic did some as well, id say were all practicing at it tbh, but its really not that hard, my mate also managed to weld a bracket on to mount it on the hanger near the bumper, and its mint, sits where it should and dosent knock or owt! Well impressed, didn’t manage to get a pic tho unfortunatly

Grinding all the excess weld off to check for any missed bits and to tidy it up, also gave it coat of paint just to protect the weld n shizz

    Test fit on the car

Pics of the car, like I said I think it needs a touch lower all round and itll be reyt! But its looks sweet for now

For one weekend its not bad progress at all!
    Cheers for looking guys
    Jack

Update, a bit late since my intenet had a mental breakdown

Got these pics a week or too ago, mine and my friends 306 on borbet a’s

Two days later my other “friend ” rammed my bumper into a kerb hiding my car, wat a prick, this is the biggest crack but there were others and a large chunk missing so that’s getting fixed as and when I can

And the 2 days before mimms me and my 306 friend decided to buy a gazebo and respray my car, only managed front end, sideskirts, roof and spoiler done
    Ghetto spray booth!

Fresh wings compared to faded spoiler

For two days I don’t thinks that’s bad at all, heres a few in a services on the way home, took advandtage of there lighting which was mint haha

    Black roof

So theres still a way to go yet, splitter is now ready to spray so that will get done in the week, really want to get it back on, finish rest of car spraying, get ride height down which is happening at the weekend, and get hold of a rear lip

    Cheers guys

Jus a quick update!, colour coded front splitter, looks tonnes better than black I rekon. Also few new pics ive got the other day

Not had chance to adjust ride height yet, but now have some shorter springs as well to get it sitting right

Got a week off work as off now so gunn try get rest of it painted and find a rear lip, got back from college today and eml light decided to come on and passenger window isn’t workin either! Guess that’s the weekend sorted then

    Cheers guyssss

What a turn around from its original state. Some more baller wheels and a tad more low and you're good to go.

You have a good thing going here. The rims could be bigger and wider though.

I like it man I had one of these for my first car. I did the same thing, bought CTR style lip and grille. I didn't bother colour-matching mine though lol. I like the wheels, how did they end up in such a terrible state before you refurb'd them?

Any thought into a swap? My old D16 had nearly 500,000km on it and never skipped a beat but no VTEC meant it wasn't overly entertaining.

                              Nice car dude.
