  • My old Dodge

I have an old 1985 Dodge Ram. I will post pictures in a few hours. I have restrictions on the one I am using now. Anways, I was driving on the freeway on Sunday and blew a tire so it forced me to get new rims since the rims I have on it now are 17 1/2" and they don't make tires that size anymore and I have some 16" rims but they're ugly with no hub caps. They are 8 lug so its hard to find some caps so I decided to buy new 17" rims with used tires. It's a two toned silver and maroon truck with red interior. It's in need of a paint shop and it def needs some love and my BF drifts so it will be our towing machine for his car so I need to fix it up. I was going to paint it matte black with red rims and white wall tires but it's way to hard to get white walls for a 17" and my truck is a 3 quarter ton so it's not small. So i was thinking of still painting the rims red and possibly with white trimming and paint the truck a cream/ light tan to match the red interior and I will probably add tan accents in the interior, like tan floor mats and such. I've always loved the colors together. I just think painting it black will be too harsh with out the white walls.

I just need some ideas and I think I will be painting it the week of December 10th. It's a really great truck with only 98k miles on it. It drives like new but of course needs a tune up. I also don't want to paint it the stock colors cause I dislike the two toned look. Just let me know your opinions, and again I will post pictures.

This would be the style I would go for with the matte black. It actually looks pretty good.

That looks good, is it this type of truck? http://www.allpar.com/images/dodge/r.../power-ram.jpg

because it would prolly look good with red wheel and matte black. And are your plans to lower it as well? because it would be awesome on bags.

I was going to take it up to Vegas to get it painted since I know someone but it would take about 2 weeks to a month and my boyfriend currently drives it so that's pretty much thrown out the window.. but then my grandpa apparently knows someone here in AZ so hopefully that pulls through.
I am now thinking of keeping the original color since everyone is bitching to me about changing it, but instead of the silver I would paint that either white or an off white. I think it would look a lot classier than the silver.

I am currently painting rims right now. 16". Paint the face red and the inside white and getting white wall tires put on them when I am finished. Should look really nice. Also I found out that the truck is lifted so I'll take the spacers out and put it back to stock height. Hopefully it tows after I do that haha.

I say any color but not silver/grey would look better

I always thought those Ram`s looked good in deep green\cream colour combo, green on top and bottom, and cream stripe I have an old Power Wagon (last year before they were named RAM) like yours, only mine`s a firetruck
They do look good in red too
              Shameless pic-whoring of mine, hehe
