6 week hiatus while we waited for parts. Our excitement hasn't dulled a bit.

    Excuse the blurry shot:

They said it wouldn't fit. We have it so far down and back that there's a solid 8" of clearance to the radiator, and no hood issues.

    Work continues, I'll update soon.

    started a topic E28/s54.

    E28/s54.

Posted this on bfc, but I know there's plenty of E28 love here too.

By now, most of you have seen ZiMMie's OEM-clean S54B32 powered E36 M-Tech. Mike, the one-man wrenching show here at Stance Factory, built this car himself and it runs on the factory DME. It's driven hard and put away hot, daily:

He hates when I show off his car.

There has been a good deal of internet fame generated by this car, and Sia was unable to miss it. Sia is a true BMW lover, with an extensive and enviable collection of classic BMW (and Alpina!) models. One of his more low-key rides is this absolutely mint 1983 525i Euro:

Sia decided that his E28 needed more than the M30B25 that BMW installed almost 20 years ago:

The common engine conversions for this chassis include both larger M30 and newer generation M50-variant motors right up to the S50B32 Euro. But these are not unique enough for Sia, who has a taste for the rare. He wants something to really make a BMW enthusiast stand up and take notice. Enter the S54B32:

With 343+hp (we'll be doing a few tricks to raise that factory figure), this should be more than enough for the light base-model E28 chassis. As that shot shows, ZiMMie is already prepping the clean motor with all the proper maintenance before it's shoehorned in (Vanos bolts, valve adjustment, an assortment of gaskets, etc etc). Oh yeah, and of course an E46 M3 6-speed transmission is patiently waiting to be bolted on also.

I'll be updating this thread as we go along, stay tuned.
Working...
