  • Convinced to make a build thread.

So I saw there was another Subaru GL on here now so I guess I'll post mine. I got this cherry 1983 GL with 54,*** on the clock off craigslist for $300. Since its a fwd auto I decided to go lower rather than raise it. I dont' have any good pics of it a stock height well all my pics are cell phone anyway, so here we go.

    Stock

Cut about 2 1/2 coils in the front and reclocked the rear torsion bars.

Decided 4x140 bolt pattern sucked so I redrilled the hubs to 4x100

Put my Dodge Omni GLH bodykit on it and covered up the H so it'd just be GL

Thats about all for now, but I have more plans once I go back to the junkyards for parts
Needs smaller tires to get it back down some.

It could, but it may take awhile to get more parts since these old Subes are rare around here since they rusted out years ago.

          i like your driveway
Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons

          Sincerely,

P.S. Is your tail a wagon?

            I caught a 80s Japanese wagon bug I guess.

This is one of my future plans for it. Since most of these have the quad headlight setup I've been collecting parts for the dual round headlight setup. I need to go back and get the core support to since they are different.

It was you over on USMB, very nice. Love my old GL wagons. My friend pointed this out to me a while back. They look good lowered, I'll be doing mine soon enough paint and body work is going to come first. I also really like the twin headlight grill. Can't wait to see it on the car they look much better! It also must be nice having something other than a 4x140 lug pattern. I have converted them to 5x100 but it's a pain.

Ya its nice being 4x100 now. I like the body work your doing, but I've never tried it so this one is still a little rusty.

Having a slow period at work so I've brought my car up to do some work.

                    Looks like a pacer LOL.

                      Some updates.

Borrowed some wheels for a day and added a roof rack off a Ford Escape.

                      Bought some new wheels.

                      Went Autocrossing.

Looks good man, i dont really have any room to talk, but i think it would look bad-ass with another coil off in the front,

With the new wheels I can go a little lower without rubbing as bad so hopefully that will happen.
