  • woody's work log

You know the drill. This will be my worklog on Stanceworks you can follow. The current plans are as noted. Things could be prior to change though as I go.
    • ff
    • ff
      • wire tuck
      • fill top handle cups
      • shave fender markers
      • fill hood notch for badgeless grille
      • shave rear emblem
      • re-finish wheels (silver faces, chrome hardware, polsihed lips)
      • shave center vent on gli lip
      • re-do exhaust

Getting the car re-sprayed and the bay shaved some is also on the list. I figure the bay will get smoothed down some when the car is ready to be painted. I am just going to fill a few holes and such. I enjoy clean bays that still have some of the lines in them and just a coat of fresh paint.

I've currently installed my vf mounts. They will be sent to powdercoat once I start on the wheels. They will be silver as well. Power steering res has been relocated and hidden. Coolant bubble has also been deleted. Need to begin the wire tuck and battery relocation next.

    Onto some pictures.
    ps res.

The bay as it sits now. Still pretty messy and the pile of parts I've deleted already is pretty crazy.

Broke one of the coolant flanges on my radiator the other day while messing with the inline filler. Sometimes crap like that makes me wanna give up on the bay, but I know the end result will be worth it.

So I decided to have a car free, beer fulfilled weekend. Today I got the radiator out in about 20 minutes. Then sprayed my calipers from where they had to be shaved down for the wheel clearance.

I feel like this is how the car always looks anymore. Daily driver my ass lol.

Today was one of those days. Where you just say nothings going to get done if I don't just dive in. Well I did. Wire tuck is happening a lot sooner than later.

Kinda sticking to the same principle on things, just saying **** it and going at it. I had looked at that diy on tucking the wires plenty of times, but when it comes to actually doing it, not so easy. I decided to take a more drug out approach at this. Spliced pretty much everything to extend and run down the fender liner. Got most of it out of the bay today.

I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten done in two days by myself. Not to mention my first take at doing this, or any real wiring job. My label machine wasn't holding quite well, so said screw it and used duct tape.

Guess I shouldn't of tried to make the wires cleaner looker in the previous pic, it doesn't look like I accomplished much haha.

Here's the passenger side. Everything deleted, only wires that will really be remaining are the headlights, ac, and o2 sensors. Hid and re-rounted the O2 wires, and have the ac coming directly out from under the cowl right to the plug. Headlights will go down the top of the frame rail.

Drivers side. The ABS wires seemed to be a pain in the ass for me. I just decided to cut them to make it easier to clean it all up. Only 146k worth of grime over everything ha.

Wiring I'm working with. Looks like a lot, but plenty of room in the cowl to tuck it away nicely.
