This drew me out of lurking. This is awesome. Although I'm bias. Since I'm a Taurus wagon owner. I'm also poor and drive on terrible roads so, I could never do this. Keep up the good work!

Here is an update of what I did today. I spent the day making the lower bag perches. I bought some 4inch ID .25 wall tube and used some of my cash of quarter inch plate to make these. I started by cutting out my disk shaped pieces one with a hole the exact diameter of the bolt for the bag and one the exact diameter of the centering peg on the lower control arm.





Then I stacked them up.



And welded them up.



Then test fit.



What I will do next is drill a hole through the bottom of control arm and run a bolt up through the whole works into the bag to hold it in place. I have the top all figured out too but you will just have to wait till its finished.
