Just a Truck.

Today i put the truck into summer mode. Changed all my fluids around, did some more maintenance to the truck and put the wheels on!

First i fixed the rust all around the truck. Its not permanent but it helps stop it for the time being.

Well here are the pictures of the mirrors. Plain and simple, the plastic was just to fragile to hold on the mirrors and the cracked the plates that i made out of the plexiglass.

The passenger side completely broke off and fell on the ground and cracked the actual mirror.

Also when they were on perfectly i couldn't see out of them. The size ratio is so much smaller than the mirror setup i was running before and i didn't think to consider that when i made the plates. So when i put them on the actual truck i couldn't even see the mirror itself.

New plan: Build out of sheet metal, tac weld bolts to the back side to hide the bolts and position them a little better.

Update: The whole mirror idea using plexiglass..... ended badly today. Went back to the drawling board and im going to just use meta. Ill post pics once i get my camera back from the show.

Next on the list is to clean up some frame rails that are rusting badly AND.... Finish the wheels!

Now that i got a good amount of time to start on the little stuff......

Started to prep the grill for the billet insert i got for it.

Also worked a bit on the mirror build process. I decided to go with using 1/4'' plexiglass for the base of the mirror. I figured down the road no matter how much i prepped them for paint i think i would still get some minor leaks and possible rust. So i went with the plexiglass and im going to use weather stripper in the inside of the plate to keep mother nature out..

Im waiting for paint and a few other things to settle and once that's done ill post pictures up of everything all done.

I know i know... Static VS. Bags is the big story to the build cause ive changed my mind about what i wanted to do so many time but it keeps the interest going for the build. Like i said before one day ill decide what i'm going to do and ill start posting pictures that will give hints towards what i chose.

I couldn't agree more with you. A lot of the stuff you have done I've been like ehhhh, and then it turns out so unique and awesome; making this one of my favorite builds. **** to throw this in on you again, but I really think staying static would add to the uniqueness considering how many bagged s10's there are In the mean time, keep up the great work!

Thanks. That makes 2 of us. These mirrors are a complete shot in the dark but that's cause nobody really goes for the looks im shooting for. I like the idea of keeping the truck completely different compared to others AND.... I'm doing what i want to do and not what others do. A leader, not a follower kind of thing i guess lol.

I know you answered me on IG, but are you bolting them in through the holes or gonna tack some bolts on the back?

I'm going to run flat allen heads from the outside into the door panel with a lock nut/washer on the other side with loctite to keep them from getting lose or anything like that. So bolting them in place.

I really want to see what these mirrors will look like when finished, as they were not my first choice lol. I have a feeling you'll pull them off quite nicely
