Love it! I used to be a Jag tech and always wanted to buy a old XJ. If you're going with a engine swap you should go with the last XJR straight six. Coil on plug, less vacuum hoses, supercharged, more than enough torque to haul that boat around, no flap sensor and it all bolts right in. Stay away from their V12. Their V8's are all Ford and quite pricey.

These older jags tend to get horrible gas millage. There's actually something right about your car, not wrong. Then got 7 gallons to the mile from the factory not 5. You should feel blessed.
