A little teaser of the engine bay. Fully shaved and new firewall installed. Hope to have the car back from paint next weekend.

That engine looks incredible too, how many miles are on it?
Thanks. They estimate 30k-40k. No real clue but its very clean under the valve cover.

I am amazed at how many Toyota OEM parts are still available for my car. Managed to get all the weatherstripping, most of the chrome trim, emblems, light covers, and of course the very rare Fender Mirrors!

Having a totally new 75 Celica give me tingles! Ha

    Not sure whats funny?

I found the BBS wheels but they looked horrible on my car. That was a year and a half ago FYI. I also went through a set of multipiece Watanabe magnesium wheels.

Now ill prob end up with TE37V or Watanabe R-Type. Last of course! Getting her back on the road is priority.

I have been talking to three different companies over the last week about doing the engine wiring for the Celica. After a lot of back and forth I finally decided today with Chase Bays and made my order through Deft Motion. Since the harness is a full custom ordeal, they are providing a great service and it should look great in the bay.

Engine was also finally ordered last week. Ended up with the full S15 swap like I planned. Expect it here early next week and then it will be cleanup time in preparation for having it mounted it in the Celica once its back from paint.

Car is still in the paint shop however. Added a few tasks for the painter and he has gotten a bit behind. Hope to have it back before the end of them month.

I also picked up a NX 1600 cluster i may try to retrofit however if it doesnt fit the vibe I will stick with all separate gauges.

    Task left to complete:
Fuel system, brake lines, rear end shortened and assembly, light/turn signal wiring, Dash/interior assembly.

    The end is getting closer!

Had to take a few parts to the paint shop today and got to take a peek at the car. Doors are shaved and blocked off. Fenders, Hood, and trunk are getting blocked off today and should be sprayed by tomorrow. Then the chassis goes in. Meant to snap a few pics but did not get a chance. Estimated to be less than 2 weeks until completion.

Also after already having the door mirrors shaved I find out that the OEM Toyota Fender Mirrors are no longer available. Been searching everywhere but all the used sets I have found are in too rough of condition. Looks like I will end up going with a Datsun Billet set and have them powdercoated satin black to match the cars accents. Most OEM Fender Mirrors regardless of the manufacturer are usually metal and have built in springs to protect from bumpage doing damage to the fenders. That is why i’m not buying cheapos!

    Will update more soon!
