I'm ideally after two recaro cs sportsters for the front, if that happens then the rears and doorcards will be retrimmed, or I can get hold of an all road interior....
I think the interior is the only think i'm not happy with now. It's not bad by any means but I miss my recaros from my mk4..
It's going to see a small amount it's all about the drivability and dickhead lows isnt somehting this build is about.
Yeah the fenders saw the arch roller a couple of weeks back.
Mean while yesterday saw me do this:
So i'd finally got fed up with not having an i pod connection in the car so I got round to ordering a unit from xcarlink with the additional bluetooth module. I ordered it yesterday at 2pm and it was with me this morning, really nice bit of kit very simple to install that also charges the phone and it still allowed me to retain the changer function too, a couple of things that many other systems dont. It also allows you to play your music via the bluetooth which is pretty impressive.
So out came the glovebox and half the center console to remove the stevie wonder fitted nokia handsfree kit that was in there.... I remember the car going off to have it done "professionally" a few years back, needless to say nothing was professional about it, wires installed by being twiddled together and semi covered with electrical tape so two hours later it was all removed and I had redone the loom tape.
It lets you control the iphone/pod on the headunit like so:
So I ran the cable down under the center to just behind the gear stick, any 4b owner will know of the useless pocket/tray thats there. So I removed it and set about fitting my cradle in there so I could plug the phone straight in when I got in the car:
Bit of cutting later:
Rough idea of whats going on:
The finished article:
I also got hold of some 16mm rear spacers to make the rear a bit more respectable:
Other than that its booked into the body shop mid april to have the rear bumper sprayed thanks to a white van deciding he didnt like my freshly painted bumpers and off for a remap too after a big service consisting of clutch, timing belt and water pump.
