It has been a year since I've finished this car and sold it, but my good friend that owns the car now stopped by and got me thinking about it again.....Then I noticed I never finished this build thread.
May 2012, I re-frenched the high beams, threw the RSK-3's back on and took a road trip to Cali.
I ***** the wheels, so I traded for some that I could sell easier. and another clever euro plate.. ...chocolate star fish
And went to the Leavenworth car rally..... Not sure what I was making sure I still had in my pocket here.
Unfortunately, my cheap NEX coils decided to break about 50 miles from Leavenworth and left me stranded on the side of the road with no chance of fixing it. Luckily, the BMW's and Porsche I was cruising with were not harmed when I slammed my frame on the highway in front of them going about 75-80. The tow truck driver scracthed his head on how to load the car for about 20 minutes before we started.
It was harder to unload the car, and I am so lucky that E38's have the side jack points or I am not sure how I wouldve gotten it raised up enough to fix shit. Here is how is sat for a month.
What happened. The thing fucking broke off. I had a friend install the rears as I installed the fronts, so I cant really say if it was the coils or the install, but I shouldve double checked before trusting someone elses work on my own car. BIG lesson learned.
I had no luck finding any NEX distributors helping me buy a replacement part, so I put back the stock susp and sold the car to a dear friend who adores it. Every couple months he drives it down 4 hours to visit me and the smile on his face when he gets out of the car always gives me a big smile as well.
