  • B5.5 Passat Build

This is actually my first post. Been looking at stanceworks for a while but never had anything to contribute until now. H2O got me fired up and i decided to go ahead and stance my daily as best I knew how.

    So Far:

Picked up a set of staggered C5 corvette wheels painted gunmetal and in need of some refinishing (I'm thinking hypersilver or a polished look). Wheels Specs are:

    17x8.5 up front w/ 205/45/17
    18x9.5 out back w/ 225/40/18

ET of +65mm with 1" spacer/adapters in the front and 1.3" in the rear.
Total ET of 40mm in the front and 32mm in the rear

Coils on the way (I know I'm currently in 4x4 mode but it was only for 2 days while the coils shipped)

I went with Raceland coils. They are cheap but this is a budget build and I know plenty of people that have them and dont have any problems. We'll see how that plays out.

    To the pics so far:

17 in front and 18 at rear hehe..I understand the idea, but the front will be so low that I think that you couldn't be able to drive it...

should look good with the coils. I think the wheels being polished will set it off!

going to look good, but the fronts may look odd with the 17s and small tires

deff need a lighter color for the wheels or polished or something

There are some very nice B5 passats out there, definitely go check them out of inspiration. And I like the silver the best

Of those colors, the silver is definitely the cleanest/best looking in my opinion.

I love b5 and b5.5s! looking to pick up a wagon myself. Its gonna look great, I never really understood the point of double staggered wheels tho.
And where in pa are you?

The coils sagged a little since last night and had to go up. I cranked them up so they have 35 threads left to go and its still really low. These racelands go REALLY low. No spring seats in the rear and the adjuster is out. Pics to come

If you reallly like the wheels I think you don't need to paint them...just need to put behind them a set of huge porsche white calipers

I like that idea. I was thinking about doing an OEM plus upgrade to A8 rotors and calipers
