It's a totally different experience. The torque of the 5.0 is incredible when compared to the m52b25. It feels like twice the torque, so pulls very nice! My coworker is an ex-FD driver and, after riding in it, thought it would do third gear drifts easy, which it would never do with tired M52. The one advantage the m52 does have is the ability to rev. Because this is a mostly stock 5.0, it barely has over 200whp currently, so after the torque curve (which is probably around 280wtq) is over, power really falls off and you have to short shift.Originally posted by Earl View PostHow's it feel versus the m5x?
The sound the 5.0 makes and the ability to upgrade is why I went with this swap. At idle, my cute hairdressers' car sounds like a cammed-out cigarette boat and, when I get on it, it sounds super gnar. I really don't think the videos give it justice at all. Once I get moved into my new place, I'll start modding it for power and it should really wake it up. With just about any head/cam/intake, this car will have over 300whp and pull for another 1500 rpm. Then I'm gonna decide between supercharger, nitrous, or both.
Yeah, I wanted to give up so many times because it was just challenge after challenge. Luckily, I have an awesome support group of wife, friends, students, and co-workers, so I was able to get it done and build a really solid car in the process. Yesterday, I drove the car on my 100-mile roundtrip commute and it was awesome to have top down, radio blasting, and v8 thumping on the highway. I don't want to do a swap like this anytime soon, but really glad I went through it.Originally posted by meech View PostCongrats man, I can't imagine the feeling of driving it after putting so much work into it025garage

Ben this amazing, you really went above & beyond with how clean the swap is. Watching the last video I couldn't stop grinning with how amazing it sounds during pulls. Supersized jelly over here, well done sir!IG:uvebeenrobd

Thanks! I'm all about giving rides, so we'll make it happen. The wife loves it. She just wants to learn how to drive it better, so she can get in on burnout action.Originally posted by gman1227 View PostAMAZING!!!!!! I must see and ride in real life, awesome job man, what does the wifey think?
Thanks, dude! I was really critical of it as I was building it, but happy with how it came together. There's lots of things people will never see that make it a pretty solid car. It really helped to finish it at our shop, so I had no excuses not to do things right. I want to clean up the wiring harness (which I bought from someone else), but otherwise everything is as clean as I can do it, which feels good.Originally posted by uvebeenrobd View PostBen this amazing, you really went above & beyond with how clean the swap is. I might. I'd have to get my wife to drive it, as I was planning on taking my school's 550hp Mustang. If my car is there, it'll be parked with Hennessey, so you shouldn't miss it.Originally posted by e34///M View PostYour should bring it to cars and coffee this saturday!
