Thanks, man! I think I diagnosed the clunk as the subframe studs backing out some. I ordered new ones and all bushings are new, so it should sort it out.

With all new parts and the reinforcement, I'm ready to slide it without fearing a big failure.

Front got new control arms, mounts and tie rods.

    One corner done

Took some pics of the interior. Still need to make some floor pan plates, but otherwise done.

A clunk that got much worse on the way back from Wekfest prompted some maintenance. The car and all the parts looked to be in good condition, but I went ahead and replaced everything.

After a few hours of waving a magic wand over it:

    Disassembled and powerwashed everything

Powerwashed bottom side of chassis. Wish I would have put down some undercoat, but will have to do that next time.

My amazing friend Clay helped me press in new differential bushings (x3), subframe bushings (x4) and rear trailing arm bushings (x2). Here's the RTAB with poly limiters that are supposed to stiffen things up a bit.

Painted subframe, upper control arms, sway bar, brake rotors and brake carriers.

    Painted calipers black.

Cleaned up everything that wasn't getting painted (before/after)

5mm of steering rack spacers for a little more angle.

    Still need to:
-install new front control arms w/ ball joints
    -finish installing new tie rods
-install new front control arm mounts.
    -weld differential
-weld in chassis reinforcement for subframe mounts
    -install ebay camber arms

Thanks! I think the ACS bumper needs the whole kit and I like this bumper since no one uses it. I'd really like to have a Racing Dynamics or Zender lip for the front though. Definitely agree about the mtech side trim.

For sure. I need to diagnose some clunking in the rear end, but I'll wait till everyone has a chance to check it out at the meet this Friday.

Appreciate it! You and the other proper e36s on here were a huge inspiration for getting this car, so always nice to hear you like it.

Thanks so much! Really happy with the reaction it is getting! General consensus seems to be it is a new direction with a familiar platform and that is exactly what I was going for.

Thanks to alexdc5 and districtspeed for these shots:
