Heyy. Ive been a lurker on here for a while checking out some insane projects on here, thought it was time to share my project.
Im from england, where it always rains and our cars rust which has made this project a lot longer than it should have.
While my other car was getting resprayed (crappy paint at that!) i wanted a daily. I found a lovely 1990 Corrado 16V and got it for £600. I had fun in it for about a month before taking off the road with plans to put it on bike carbs and paint it matt red (which didnt happen haha). Before reading this, keep in mind i have never painted a car before or done any bodywork or any welding before, it was a massive learning curve, hope it inspires people and dont be put off learning new things

There was some rust on it.

Then pulled the engine out...

3 wheel bolts for one of the rear wheels all broke apart.

So i had to remove the wheel in a different way. I had fun though!

Had the car fully stripped down in about a week and half.

Found more rust.

Finally welded a new arch on and got the rust repaired after about a month

why not smooth chassis legs while im at it

Got some primer on it

Got some other bits painted

A little polish later

More rusty bits that went in the bin

New underseal right under the car, new brakes etc..

Got some wheels for it. 9x16 DZ Exclusiv (which got changed later on
)

Coming together early this year, but still needs an engine!

So with my Audi A3 sat there on the driveway, i thought my tuned 1.8 Turbo engine from that would be better suited in my corrado. So out it came!

Sorta fits

After some work. I got it mounted in

New jetex exhaust

Got some new wheels

Painted them in a 'subtle' colour

and bought dishes

Stretched some rubber on them

and to cut the story short a year and a few months later. Heres how it looks today.

Some photos courtesy of some friends.

Tried my friends Rota's on it aswell. I think the look better than the BBS's!

Thanks for looking
Hope this thread inspires people to work on their own cars.
