I'm looking to get D2 coilovers soon. Then it'll get low. Just wait. I'm a college student with a budget of like 0 so it's gonna take time. And my car is a hell of a lot lower than some of the cars in this section.... And it's an e36 it's old and I don't really care how it looks if I get to have a fun time driving it, which I do.

Also here ya go, got my diff welded.

****** gonna **** I guess. Keep it up man, But if you wanna stop copping flack from a few people who just cant seem to maybe, i dunno not read your thread if they dont like it maybe you should stance it at least. You can stance a car and still achieve decent drifts mate Keep it up. If not maybe even try tramp drift forums, just a thought.

I like the motosport influence on the car and your work too, but it's still a M3 and derserves a little more classy styling. Lower it, keep wheels if you like them, work a bit on the stance, clean her up, maybe buff the paint...just needs a cleaner look overall

why is this thread on stanceworks, not trying to be the bearer of bad news but this isn't even close to stanced or skimming the far side of the quality work moon. in my opinion you should keep this bananas to yourself

shame on you for not working out a proper plan for a perfectly good e36, just saying

    Time for an update

I used to want a track day car but after I did my first streetwise drift event I decided I wanted a drift car.

    So I started work.

    I gutted it

Got some tires and did my first drift event.

After that I was hooked. I threw it into overdrive.
    I got harnesses

    Instal

    Done

    A 13in dirt track wheel

    Added camber bolts

    15mm spacers in the front

    10mm Spacers in the rear

Then shortly after my stock LSD exploded, it had 167k miles to that's not a surprise. Good thing I was only a mile from my house. Got a ride home and trailered it back.

Took it out. Took about 2 hours with lunch

    Popped it open and....
    .

Next on my list of to dos are D2 or BC racing coilovers, A harness or roll bar so I can mount my harnesses correctly, My welded diff should be done sometime this week and I'm currently refinishing a set of genuine BBS style 5s from an E30 M3 for drift spares then i'll be set.

Here's a sneak peak of the wheels.

Haven't posted up in a while so it's time for an update.

First off, I took my mini keg intake off. It was actually really restricting air flow. The butt dyno noticed a pretty big increase. So the keg is off the car. I'm hoping to make a real heat shield when I get done with finals

Shortly after that my alternator kicked the bucket in Charlotte so I had to rush home to Chapel Hill and get a new one. That was sketchy.

I took everything off the old one and boy did I get lucky. I got the alternator from Autozone and it was a POS Chinese rebuild. It makes these stupid noises and the backing plate had a bad ground and was making all my speakers whine. So I swapped all the old hardware and pulley over and it fixed the whining.

While all this was happening I signed up for my first drift event. So naturally I had to make sure my car would pass tech. I painted my tow hooks.

Made a battery terminal cover out of an old doggy paw shoe thing. (I have to find the pic, it's hilarious but it worked.)

I also added camber bolts to my front so my car would oversteer a little easier
    New vs. Old

Then I needed more wheels and tires so I hit up a couple of friends and ended up with a full set of E30 M3 wheels to use and about 10 sets of tires. All free.

The E30 wheels were 15s so they only fit the back. Which was all i needed

I also threw on a set of 10mm spacers in the front

    Before

    After

I loaded up my car with a shit ton of tires. It took me two trips to Charlotte to get them all there along with all my tools. The morning of one of my friends and I loaded our cars and headed out. Both were stuffed with tires, tools, food, and other random stuff.

Made it to the event and got ready to go. It really was a ton of fun. I'm registering for my second event within the next week. Here are all the pics I got/could find.

By the end my car was gross and I broke a fog light. But it was well worth it.

Then I got screwed by the tire changers. They left well before the event ended and I was stuck on these.

So i had to swap back to my 15's which suck ass for driving normally.

After that I got an alignment check. It was awful. So I went ham on the car. I basically aligned it myself. I also finally got my 15mm spacers from TMS. So those went on the front and the 10s got moved to the back.

    10 vs. 15

Heres one pic of the car actually clean with the 10s in the front. I haven't taken one with the 15s yet because the car is disgusting and I can't wash it at school.

Soon to come are D2 Coilovers, a gripRoyal steering wheel, new wheel colors, and a custom header-back straight pipe.

This thing will slowly be turned into a drift car this summer.

Also i'm picking up RTAB limiters tomorrow. Gonna try and get this thing stiffer.

Whaeva dude I do what I want.

    Anyway
Here's another pic with mah city lights

Then I ordered clears from DDM. Obviously they're not the best quality but they fit and I re-aligned the headlights so they're all flush.

    Then with city lights

If you're wondering why I don't have a full car photo it's because the UPS truck carrying my clear tail lights broke down so I didn't get my lights on Friday and I had to go back to UNCC so I won't have those for a few weeks.

I also went to the 31st annual Korman auto works meet, they had a mobile dyno there so I hopped on.

Got 206 at the wheels the dyno said 79 outside but my temp thing in the car said 86 so i'm pretty happy with the numbers. Especially for a 14 year old car with 165k miles.

Here's the vid. I got the biggest crowd. Probably because my car is so loud.

I also swapped my diff fluid to 75w-90 Redline and order 15mm spacers for the front. Those are back-ordered but should be here in few weeks.
