  • Just another budget vr6 swapped mk2 gli

Well i browse stanceworks mainly in the builds section for atleast 3 to 4 hours every single night while going too bed im a bmw tech and ive been building and modding bmw's and vw's for 13 yrs im a diehard enthusiest soo i figure why not throw one of my younger buddies build up... keep in mind this is a budget build he had about 2 grand too build this whole car including the car itself

soo too start out we found a 90 jetta carat with all gli interior (recaros) for 500 bucks of course the car was an 1.8 digicrap 8valve 5spd soo he bought some raceland coilovers and drove the car that way for a bit... then the deal came around he found a 98 gti vr6 that was crashed soo the perfect donor has arrived now the pics will start the talking i will post some better pics as we move along

8valve motor and trans and subframe waiting to be removed

8valve motor trans and subframe all removed

vr6 motor trans and subframe removed

I tried too tell him not too but hey hes 18yrs old and likes this kind of weird shit

soo now the engine subframe and trans is swapped in after some polishing cleaning gaskets and coolant parts aswell as clutch and timing chains aswell as some other odds and ends before going into its new home

that's it for now the car cranked right up i will be posting more pics of process and done pics when i can get them off my card
