  • 1967 VW Type 3 hoping to get some more Stance

    Hey guys.

Love the forum and not really sure how my car will be looked apon on here but hope you guys like it..

Shes a 1967 type 3 1600 Notch.. this is one of the cleanest notches iv ever seen.. 100% stock standard down to the point of still having the paint stickers on the inside of the panels.. Its had 2 owners and for the past 4 years sat in a garage.. before that it pretty much sat in a garage most its life too.. its got around 50,000 Miles on the clock atm..

Plans include. Lowering, New wheels , overriders, clear indicators, A fully stealth stero install using all the best audio gear and a full alarm with central locking.. After all this has been done i will be looking into the Engine, Braking and the electrics.. maybey a12 V conversion.. New headlights.. ignition etc.. And what ever else pops up down the track..

So heres some pics of the pickup thru to its current form..

So far iv done a short axle conversion ( fitting beetle axles ) to bring the rear end in around 2-3 inches..

Had the engine serviced a few times and lowered her..

    Cheers Vice Enjoi..

I really wish it could get allot lower..

Now the back has been taken in it could go ALOT lower.. But the front rubs any lower.. And i dont want the back to low compared to the front..

But with the offset on these rims the only way to get the front more narrow that i know of is to cut up the beam ( which im not keen on )

Thanks for the comment tho Good to see it wasnt to old for the forums..

I also have a Liberty thats in need of some coil overs.. You guys have actually had me thinking about it..

        Cheers Vice.

          Looks awesome.
And if you want to go lower and still be able to turn you will have to cut up the beam.

I am really broke with far too many ideas.

I envy you so much...I want one of these so badly! Lovely example you got yourself there. If you want more lows....go with air? I'll be keeping an eye on this!

The condition of the interior and exterior is amazing. Looks nice sitting that little lower already, now just to get it scraping frame.

Real nice condition, I prefer standard steelies on old vw's though, doesn't make sense to me trying to get them flush or poking when they suit the sunken "oem" look so much better

plenty of places sell narrowed beams to whatever spec you want, but not sure if they ship to aus or not

super clean notch tho, looks mint

                            Thanks again guys..

Vdubbin.. Ill be there for sure. She took out second last year in the Stock type3/4 catagory last year..

Would love to see how it goes now..

And i know a new front beam would get it down more which id prefer , And i also like the narrow stance not poke on Old dubs..

The problem is my fears of cutting to much on such a nice example.. Bolt on is fine with me but i have herd i would have to hack off the horns on the front to fit a narrowed beam.. which im not keen on.

Im fairly sure mine is the best condition stock early type 3 in Vic if not Australia..And may be worth some money some day..

My inital plans for it was a Suby ej but stumbeled apon such a nice example i couldnt bare cutting it up.

I had herd there was some guy in the states cutting up the control arms and re welding making for a narrower stance , Anyone herd of this method ?? As its a bolt on option and id be up for this..

                            Cheers Again Vice.
